Happy late Thanksgiving to any of you guys who celebrate it and happy Black Friday/Black Tag shopping even for people who don’t. I managed to get a couple of bargains with some clothes I wanted anyway and a big order for goodies from Holland and Barrett (I’ll have so much dried fruit and snacks over Christmas we could get snowed in and we’d be fine!) Have you guys braved the stores or found any bargains online? Or just avoided the whole thing altogether?
I’m feeling rather Christmassy recently and I decided to do an order from Paperchase to get some decorations, I got a new tree last year that’s slightly bigger than the one I had for 12 years and finally gave up on me so I wanted some extra decorations. I also did a smallish order from Amazon, a couple of things I’ve wanted for ages and I might finally be getting organised for my Ciate advent calendar swatching this year, or nail varnishes in general, and getting some nail wheels that I’ve been meaning to get for nearly two years now.
There’s a few things in these orders that are sort of bought with the idea of using them for photographs for the blog so I’m hoping that I’ll finally have a definite backing and some decorations. It’s taken me two years, long enough right?

I’m not sure whether The Range is an international store but in the UK it sells pretty much everything to do with the home and gardening like décor, furniture, plants, pet supplies, arts and crafts bits and lots of different foods, I just saw some American chocolate in there this time I haven’t seen before. The main things I’ve bought are art and crafty things as they have good names for less than other stores I’ve bought from and their picture frames are great value and so far all of the ones I’ve got are good quality.
The main thing I went in for was a picture frame for a piece of art I got for Christmas from mum and dad which I love but it did need a frame to put it up on the wall. I did end up almost getting some more wall hanging things as they have some great metal ones with antique looking signs on them and some really nice mirrors. When I move out I’m definitely going there for bits. I also ended up looking in the art and craft bit and got a set of brushes and a discount card making set which was half price. They do have an online store but there isn’t the same range as available in store as I can’t find either the paint brushes or the goody bag, though they do have a lot of picture frames and home décor bits on there.

I ended up making two separate purchases from Paperchase, one from their website and another from their store on Amazon. My original purchase was the store but they didn’t have the pink Santa that I really wanted and then I found it on Amazon so bought a couple of extra bits to make the postage worth it, though one isn’t really Christmassy. The things I bought from their website I also got 10% off with my UniDays voucher for being a student so if you’re a student in the UK it’s worth signing up for that as it’s free.
For years I’ve had the same decorations, most of them being from Paperchase as they do really nice mini ones that fit on my 2 foot tall tree. I just felt like I needed a change as I’ve had the same ones for years and although I’m still keeping them and I’ll use some there was a limited amount of different ways of using them. And then I saw the neon collection in Paperchase and I just had to have some from them. As I’m writing this the ones I have included a link in are in stock but the Christmas decorations bit in Paperchase seems to be decreasing each time I go on there so if you like the look of them I’d get them quickly.
