It’s Christmas Eve! It doesn’t actually feel like it to me, Christmas sort of snuck up in me, and I’m still doing last minute wrapping. Today is mainly full of all the fun jobs preparing for Christmas and the dinner tomorrow and I expect I’ll feel more Christmassy later but it doesn’t feel like it now. Think we’ll be watching Santa Claus: The Movie tonight, it’s a bit of a tradition. Do you guys have movies you watch in Christmas Eve or other family traditions?
With it being Christmas Eve that means the last day in most of my advent calendars, the Marks and Spencer one has an extra day for Christmas so there will be one last, shorter, post tomorrow but this is the end of another year of advent and I’ve been very happy with pretty much everything I’ve got. Today I have a few full sized products, the Marks and Spencer advent calendar has a Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm in Peppermint which I is always a good product to get in the colder weather. The Ciate Mini Mani Month today has a full sized bottle, it’s an exclusive glitter called Meet Me at Midnight, and the bottle itself is so pretty too. The Yankee Candle advent calendar has a votive candle this time and it’s in the scent Christmas Eve, very appropriate, and the Lindt chocolate is a smaller version of the chocolate Santas they do and I had to confluence photos of it out of the wrapping because it’s just so detailed.
As I know a lot of you probably won’t be reading tomorrow, if anyone’s still following this advent, I thought I’d just say Merry Christmas! And have a great weekend whether you celebrate Christmas or not!
It’s nearly autumn, at least all of the autumn ranges are being released (and Yankee Candle had a 30% off offer), so it’s time for my annual Yankee Candle order for a couple of the Halloween scents. I do sometimes buy things in between, normally the wax melts or tea lights, but I always buy a Witches’ Brew and normally something from the Halloween accessories range. I also got a Fruit Salad large jar candle, it’s the only size available in it, which is apparently always available in the US but only a special release in the UK so if you’re in the UK then get it quickly as these ones often disappear without any warning.
I’ve only had them for a day but I have burned them all to see how they smell when they’re lit, though I don’t tend to find there’s that much difference in scent cool to warm when it comes to Yankee candles in the actual jars, some of the wax melts change but not the actual candles that I’ve had.
Today’s advent calendars have very red products with a Morgan Taylor nail varnish in pretty a Woman which is a nice classic creme finish red that is a great colour for around Christmas. I like wearing red creme finish varnishes with a bit of glitter on the tips of my nails, especially one with bits of white alongside holographic glitters as a sort of snow effect. The candle in the Yankee Candle advent calendar is a votive, a larger candle that needs to be out into a votive holder or glass as it doesn’t have a plastic or glass container as part of the candle like their others do. This is in a new scent as well, a very appropriate Christmas Eve which is supposed to be a fruity one and I think I get that, it’s not overly Christmassy so might work the rest of the year too.
