How is it already over a week into December? It feels like everything is happening at once and the last minute panic for the presents I haven’t got yet is kicking in. I felt so organised this year as well. Probably doesn’t help that I’m ill and all the family gatherings seem to be happening now so I’m sort of only half there all the time. I’m hoping the antibiotics kick in before this weekend for the big family meal as we don’t get to see each other very often.
I love family get togethers, or catching up with friends, seeing people you don’t see for most of the year and catching up with their lives. The best ones are when it doesn’t feel like a year ago you last talked. Though it feels like there’s less family get together as I get older, I guess that happens naturally anyway as everyone starts their own families and new traditions, but it does feel weird sometimes. Do you guys have family meals and meet ups this time of year, or catching up with friends you hardly ever see?
I haven’t actually had a full sized version of this but, with the latest Marks and Spencer Beauty Box, I have had three of the mini sample sizes and been using it for a while now so thought I’d do a post on the Formula Absolute Ultimate Sleep Cream. Although these are minis at 15ml you really don’t need much of the product so this is enough to get a good feel for if it’s right for you, I love it when companies do that.
The full sized version of this cream comes in a jar and contains 50ml of product at £22. It’s not a low budget product but it’s not high end either, I’d say it’s somewhere in the middle price wise. It is also vegetarian friendly and cruelty free with the leaping bunny logo, one thing I love about Marks and Spencer’s beauty ranges is that they are cruelty free.
I did have another post planned but as the Marks and Spencer’s Summer Beauty Boxarrived in the post today I couldn’t wait to do a post on the products in it. Similar to their beauty advent calendar these boxes have a much higher value than this price, this one is around £135 of products they say on the site, but you have to spend £40 in Marks and Spencer’s to get it for the discounted price of £15. Since I wanted curtains from there anyway I just added this to the basket as it’s such a bargain and there are a few products in here I was planning on getting anyway.
There’s quite a good range of different products in the box. Some are full sized and others are travel sized or deluxe samples but they cover the spectrum of beauty pretty well. There’s a couple of makeup bits with mascara and liquid lipstick, some summer products like after sun and SPF lip balms and quite a few hair and body products. It’s actually pretty evenly spread out and a great way to try some of these brands as the full sized products of some would cost more than the box and any that aren’t full sized are still a decent sample size.
Todays post may turn out to be a bit shorter than normal as neither of the parts is as long as I thought they’d be. I originally planned on doing a whole post to review the Lush Tree D Bath Oil but I really couldn’t think of enough to say about it. It’s definitely disappointing so I wanted to get this post up before the sales start as it might be one people are tempted by. I’ll go into more detail in the post if you want the full review but the short version is it just isn’t worth the money. Unless I have a dud but the ones I’ve seen in store seemed the same.
The second part is more positive and it’s the Marks and Spencer’s Beauty Advent Calendar gift for today; the Formula Absolute Ultimate Sleep Cream from Marks and Spencer’s Beauty. I haven’t really tried this one out properly, it’s a night cream and it’s today’s gift so no chance really, but also apparently I got this exact tube last year. It’s a 15ml tube as the mini and a full sized jar 50ml costs £22 so this tube is worth £6.60 I think. I will try it tonight and put my first impressions (or is that second given I did that last year too) in this post anyway.
