I’ve been working on decluttering for the past couple of
months, I’ve actually been pretty good and my cupboards look so much tidier. I’ve
been sorting out my makeup recently and realised how much of the stuff I was
keeping is just not me at all, or at least not any more. I’ve actually counted
up how many things are in this declutter post and there’s fifty three pieces of
makeup or accessories that are going! I didn’t realise I had that much!
I did start this off with a little review of each of them,
but when you have fifty three to get through it would be so long, so instead I’m
just going to link to any that I’ve already reviewed on here and say why I’m
getting rid of them. I have to say there are a few that I never thought I’d declutter
but they’re so old that if I did decide to reach for them I don’t think they’d
do me any good. I have a new rule; if it smells like wax crayons, get rid of
Onto the decluttering….
I’ve always meant to do empties posts, I just tend to find
that I go for ages without having any and then within a week everything I use
regularly is finished. I love reading or watching them when other people do
them as it shows what you actually use and like rather than a review of
something you’ve been using for a few weeks or days.
As I’ve been organising my wardrobe, I’m only part way at
the moment, I’ve ended up getting all the random stuff that got thrown into
this basket I got for empties so now it can finally be used as I wanted it to
be. I didn’t plan on it being overflowing before I did my first post though! I’ll
try to keep them shorter, maybe after every ten empties, I didn’t realise how
much was in there until I emptied it earlier! As there are so many I’ll try to
keep them short and I’ll link to any I’ve done reviews on so you can see more about

I know I did another recent purchases post earlier this week, I would have saved this one until next week but I’m not sure how long the Soap and Glory tin is going to be available and I think it’s a pretty god offer so wanted to show you guys what’s in it. I did go into a Boots store earlier this week and there was a display for the Soap and Glory Sweet Ten-Tation but someone in front of me got the last one as I walked through the door so if you want to get one in store you might want to be quick or just order it online may be easier as you can still pick them up in store. I got all of these things on the Boots website.
I didn’t realise that Boots had done their version of the Beauty Blender, or kind of anyway, and with the price difference I wanted to try it and the Real Techniques sponge as I’ve been recommended it in the past. Also, getting these things I now have enough Boots points to get the original beauty Blender with them anyway so I can compare them in the future some time. I also didn’t know about the Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker lipsticks, there’s a Nudes Collection, a Pinks Collection and a Reds Collection with eight colours in each with three different finishes. I am definitely going to be getting more in the future but I thought I’d go with two from the Nudes Collection to start with as they’re buy one get one half price at the moment.
Today’s review is the Thick and Fast mascara by Soap and Glory. I am definitely a fan of the Soap and Glory makeup I’ve tried so far, though it’s mainly the eyeshadows, lip glosses and a few of the lip colours. This mascara is another that was a favourite for a couple of years, also it’s sort of middle of the field with prices of the ones I own at the moment as it’s £10 and around Christmas is often included in the big Soap and Glory set or one of their other makeup offers, where I’ve got them the past few years.
This is the original version, and I have had it in my drawer since Christmas, it was the only one they did at the time but now it’s the superjet black one that’s on the Boots website here. I have never seen the others but I might look into them when my mascara stash is finally low enough.
