Review: Etude House 98% Soothing Watermelon Gel

etude-house-water-melon-gel-1

After the recent hot weather it seems the perfect time to review the 98% Watermelon Soothing Gel from Etude House. I bought it in a recent eBay Korean Beauty haul for £6.65. It’s sold as a cooling and calming gel, something like the aloe vera gel you get to use for cooling and calming your skin especially after sun burn. To add to the cooling effect you can keep it in the fridge, though this does give you a bit of a shock when you first apply it!

Review: Primark Holler and Glow Purrfect Skin Hand Mask

primark-glove-masks-header.jpg

Having recently found the range of masks in Primark at my local store and seeing a hand mask I had to get one. Given my love of sheet masks I was interested to see how a hand mask would work and how it would compare to just using hand creams as I’ve never used any kind of hand mask before. This is the Holler and Glow Purrfect Skin Transforming Hand Glove Masks, which is a bit of a long name, and part of the printed mask range so it has a bright turquoise blue and pink leopard print design.

This pair of gloves costs £4 and you get one set for that. It didn’t specifically say it’s a one use only thing but I don’t think I’d want to use it twice. Basically it’s a pair of plastic gloves with, what feels like, a glove shaped sheet mask with the mask formula infused in the sheet inside the outer gloves.

Review: New FOMO Lush Jelly Face Mask

LushFOMOheader.jpg

When I saw that Lush were coming out with new products I had to check some of them out and the new range of jelly face masks really intrigued me so I decided to get the two that seemed like they’d suit my skin needs the most. They come in the same size pots at the older style fresh face masks so I thought I’d get a few face masks out of each. They also claim to be self preserving and don’t need to be kept in the fridge which are both real bonuses for me as that is one thing about the older style that puts me off getting them more. These face masks are cruelty free, all Lush products are, and it says these specifically are suitable for vegans.

FOMO is aimed at evening skin tone and calming your skin with Calamine, Kaolin and Rose Absolute. It’s a solid jelly that you take a piece off, rub between your hands and then apply it to your face for five to ten minutes before washing off so I was interested to see how this would work. The new jelly range is available online or in stores and cost £6.95. I’m not sure if they’re included in the masks that you can get free with the black and clear pots, I’ll have to ask next time I go in as that’s how I get all my Lush face masks at the moment.

Haul: Lush Fresh Face Masks and a Body Mask

freshfacemaskhaulheader.jpg

I have been hoarding Lush black pots for the past eight years, I don’t go into Peterborough very often which is where my local Lush is and do tend to forget them even when I do. Lush have a scheme where, if you take back five of their black or clear pots, and they recently added lip tint tubes to this, you can get a free fresh face mask. Their Hair Doctor product is also included in it, at least I’ve been told it is but I’ve never tried. The face masks are the fresh face masks, the ones kept in I’ve that you have to store in a fridge in the 75g pots. When you buy them they cost £7.25 but you do get a lot of uses out if the one pot.

As my mum and sister went in on Friday I asked them to swap some of the pots I had and they chose two of these as they were recommended them. The ones they were recommended were BB Seaweed and Catastrophe Cosmetic and the two new ones I wanted to try were Rosy Cheeks and Cup O’ Coffee. Unfortunately Cup O’ Coffee is not in this black pot offer though it’s available in different sizes, the largest one is probably the best to get if you plan on using it as a body scrub.

I’ve had quite a few of these over the years, I have tried all of the range before they did recent releases so as two of these face masks are older ones, I’m going to put a review of those two in here. I could do a post on all of them if anyone wants or if you want to know about one of the older ones then I’ll try to answer them.
