I do love a good sheet mask and bought a set of the Tony Moly ones a while ago from eBay for around £10. Most of them have been sat there for a few months but I finally got round to trying the Broccoli Sheet Mask which is supposed to help with vitality so brighten your skin and give it a healthy glow. I have to say this is one of the more intriguing ones, I don’t think I’ve ever used a broccoli based skin care product before.
Sheet masks have become more popular in the UK with a lot of companies bringing out their own versions but I haven’t seen the Tony Moly ones around much despite other products from them being available here. However, I have seen these Brocoli ones in TK Maxx recently and it seems they cost £4.99 there going by the online price so I’d recommend eBay if you’re interested in trying them.
When I went to Primark last weekend the plan was to check out the beauty section, maybe get a couple of vest tops and see if there was anything decent in the home section. The home section was forgotten about, I need to go back for that I think, and the vests I like weren’t there so I ended up wandering around with mum and seeing what they had. This did lead to a basket full of Harry Potter and Disney things which I did manage to get down to two before we wandered over to the pyjama section and found the unicorn in the haul.
Unfortunately their beauty section in our local isn’t the best stocked, though I was impressed by the range of other brands available that weren’t there the last time I checked, and most of the makeup had obviously been poked and prodded which always puts me off. The only things that seemed safe were eyeshadows, I already have too many, and the lip kits which were available in chocolate brown or fantasy glitter. I was tempted by the sparkles but the chocolate brown was too dark for me, I might have to pop in when we go to Vodafone over the weekend and see if they have other colours then. I get the feeling that it isn’t the most popular section of the store as I was the only one looking at it and it didn’t really make me want to stop and browse.
I recently made a small order from Boots, mainly because I needed a new mascara so I decided to get two as there’s an offer to get a free set when you buy two which had things I liked the look of in so I got two mascaras and some sheet masks as they were in a great offer. If you like the Boots Ingredients Sheet Masks then now is a great time to buy them, or try them if you’ve been interested but not got them yet, as they’re normally £2.50 but at the moment they’re four for £3 so 75p each which is a great price for any sheet mask in the UK.
The summer gift for No7 has a great mix in it, for me anyway, and you could almost do a full face with it, I’m tempted to try. You get a bronze eyeliner, waterproof mascara, lip gloss and face sun cream so for a beach day with minimal makeup you’re pretty much covered. I haven’t tried some of here before so I’m interested to see what they’re like. These offers tend to last a while, going by past experience, and this one is fairly new but they often run out of stock in actual stores quickly and I think you probably have a month online from when it was first released, it all depends on how long it’s running and I can’t find an end date.
Hey guys, how’s your week been? This wasn’t my planned Friday post but I’ve been working on giving the blog a makeover, well the planning stage of it, and time kind of got away from me. I think I’ve looked at so many fonts the word sample just looks wrong to me now! This year I will actually do the makeover I planned last year, but more on that next week.
I am trying to improve my skin care routine, and part of that is to use a face mask once a week (unless it’s one that happens to say use more regularly) and, as I have so many sheet masks I thought I’d start with one of them. If I keep up with this I’ll probably turn these into bonus weekend posts as they’re going to be short. Today’s face mask is a TonyMoly sheet mask, one of a set of eleven I bought recently from f2plus1 on eBay, and it’s the I’m Real Red Wine Sheet Mask for Pore Care.
Although I haven’t seen any of these in the U.K. apparently some of the TonyMoly I’m Real face mask range have been spotted in TK Maxx so worth checking your local to see if they have them. Otherwise I bought mine from eBay, they are available from a range of sellers, either individually or wholesale or, as is the case with mine, as part of a set where you get one of each variety. The prices to vary depending on what you get but with the full set I think it often comes to around £1 a face mask.
Since getting a Meme box a couple of years ago I have loved all of the Korean beauty products I’ve tried. I also recently also found the TonyMoly Pokemon range and the Holika Holika Gudetama range and may have had a wish list that was way more than I could actually buy so quite a bit of this order is from those two collections. I do love sheet masks and have been wanting to try more Korean ones, knowing how well a lot of the skincare seems to get on with my skin, so I bought a selection pack along with a moisturiser I know works.
I’ve made a few orders from the f2plus1 eBay store, the eBay store for Beauty Net Korea, so I trust them. Add in the cheaper prices than getting these things anywhere in the UK and the free postage I definitely recommend them if you’re in the UK. They did have a sale on where everything had money off, at the time I think almost everything was around 14% which seems an odd number but getting a bargain is always good.
I haven’t seen these Boots Ingredients sheet masks in Boots until recently so I bought a couple to try out as I do love sheet masks, they’re just so convenient and a lot less messy as you don’t need to wash it off afterwards. There are three available in this range, I tried the Charcoal and Willowbark Cleansing and Purifying one, you can find the review here, and this time It’s the turn of the Lotus Flower and Tiger Lily Radiance and Brightening Sheet Mask.
These masks are all £2.50 each in Boots though they do have offers and at the moment it’s 50p off certain Boots Ingredients masks. These packs each contain one mask and are one use, though from my experience with the two there’s quite a lot of the moisturising formula in there so you can use it on the rest of your body as well.
I love sheet masks, they’re just so convenient and fast to use, especially when they’re the ones you just massage in the residue afterwards rather than washing off. The only negatives about them, here in the UK, was that they were hard to find without either paying inflated prices or going to eBay, though more highstreet companies seem to be doing their own versions and I recently found some in Boots. I’m not sure how long they’ve been doing them but it’s the first time I’ve seen them in any physical stores. I picked two but tried this, the Boots Ingredients Sheet Face Mask Charcoal and Willow Bark Cleansing and Purifying mask. The other mask I bought is the Lotus Flower and Tiger Lily Radiance and Brightening mask, you can find the review here, which is aimed more at moisturising and for drier skin so if that sound more like your skin type then that might be worth looking at instead.
These masks cost £2.50 each and each pack contains one mask, though at the moment there’s an offer with selected Boots Ingredients face masks being two for £3 so it’s almost buy one get one free. It’s a great time to try a couple if you want to give them a go. Although they’re easy to get, even if it’s online rather than in store, there are only four to choose from which isn’t a great range but I think they cover some of the more common skin problems.
I went shopping today so I thought I’d do a post on the things I bought, though a few of the things from Boots are repurchasing old favourites that I have reviewed in the past I did find a few new things that I am really excited to try. I also went to Matalan and managed to keep it down to three things from there, I could have bought so much more and I found a jacket that I will definitely be buying online as they didn’t have my size in store. I did also go to Pets at Home so I’ve included the few gerbil things I got there too, I wouldn’t normally but I figured it’s not an extra post and it’s something different.
Ever since seeing all these reviews on sheet masks I’ve been on the lookout for good ones that are easy to get in the UK. I have tried a couple of the Superdrug ones and really liked them and found some in a recent look on the online store for Holland and Barrett so I ordered a couple of the different types to see how they compare. Most of the sheet masks I’ve seen are fairly similar in that they don’t have too much of the actual liquid on them and I’ve definitely not seen any clay based ones before so these intrigued me.
The one I tried the other day is the Million Year Clay Facial Revitalise Bamboo Sheet Mask by Earth Kiss, it sells for £1.99 for each sheet mask but they’re often in the offers, they were in a buy one get one half price offer when I made the order, as was everything on the site. It says there are 85 plant nutrients and it’s vegetarian friendly and cruelty free. The main two ingredients are rhassoul clay and juniper, I’ve not heard of juniper as great for skin care but I know clay tends to have a lot of benefits for skin.
If you read my last post on my Superdrug purchases then you will have seen I bought a few of their sheet masks just to see what they were like. They’re in a 3 for 2 offer at the moment and cost £1.29 each. I’ve seen a lot about sheet masks from Asian beauty brands but haven’t seen any in the UK, so when I saw these on the site I had to get them.
This is the Calming Facial Sheet Mask, it says it’s a cleansing formula and contains green tea, cucumber and aloe vera juice. As these are fairly calming ingredients that I know have worked for me in the past and it says for all skin types I thought this would be a good one to start with.
