As my skin has dry flaky patches I’m always on the lookout for a good exfoliator. I love how well the Dead Sea Spa Magik hair products work on my scalp so thought I’d try the Mild Exfoliant when I saw it in Tesco recently. It seemed like it’s sort of a mix of mud pack face mask and standard exfoliator so I was interested to see how it would work for me.
Like the other products in the range it uses minerals from the Dead Sea and harmonised water, though I’m not sure what that is. It’s also paraben free and uses an allergen free fragrance if your skin is sensitive to normal fragranced products. The tube has 75ml of the product in it and costs £7.99 on Holland and Barrett, and I think it was the same price in Tesco it’s just not online.

The latest Fortune Cookie Soap Soap Box arrived on the weekend so, after trying everything out, today’s post is a mini review, first impressions type post for each of the upcoming Autumn scents. Fortune Cookie Soap are an American company that make bath and body products and their signature products it, unsurprisingly, a fortune cookie shaped soap. They release seasonal collections four times a year and these Soap Boxes are full of sample sizes of the upcoming scents in a range of products alongside two full sized products. Calling them sample sizes seems a bit mean considering the amount you get, they’re great travel sized minis and even the body butters can do more than one use if you’re careful with them.
As well as the seasonal collections often having the theme of the season, they also have a second theme. This time the theme is the movie Mean Girls which, I’ll be honest, I haven’t seen in a while so some of the references may go over my head. I was surprised at how many I actually got but fans of the movie will probably recognise everything. I do love how they use in jokes as well as the more well known references when it comes to these themes.
As this is the Autumn (Fall if you’re American) collection it isn’t actually available yet, the release date is August 18th at 6PM CST, I think that’s around midnight here in the UK. It’s worth either staying up late if you want something or waiting a bit as they often restock things a couple of weeks later and things sell out so fast.

I have been hoarding Lush black pots for the past eight years, I don’t go into Peterborough very often which is where my local Lush is and do tend to forget them even when I do. Lush have a scheme where, if you take back five of their black or clear pots, and they recently added lip tint tubes to this, you can get a free fresh face mask. Their Hair Doctor product is also included in it, at least I’ve been told it is but I’ve never tried. The face masks are the fresh face masks, the ones kept in I’ve that you have to store in a fridge in the 75g pots. When you buy them they cost £7.25 but you do get a lot of uses out if the one pot.
As my mum and sister went in on Friday I asked them to swap some of the pots I had and they chose two of these as they were recommended them. The ones they were recommended were BB Seaweed and Catastrophe Cosmetic and the two new ones I wanted to try were Rosy Cheeks and Cup O’ Coffee. Unfortunately Cup O’ Coffee is not in this black pot offer though it’s available in different sizes, the largest one is probably the best to get if you plan on using it as a body scrub.
I’ve had quite a few of these over the years, I have tried all of the range before they did recent releases so as two of these face masks are older ones, I’m going to put a review of those two in here. I could do a post on all of them if anyone wants or if you want to know about one of the older ones then I’ll try to answer them.

I made a few orders in the Boxing Day sales, though only my Paperchase one was actually on Boxing Day and that’s one of the ones that hasn’t got here yet. The two I’m posting about today are the things I bought online from Boots and from. Holland and Barrett. One of the Boots things was a Star Buy, the Champney’s hand spa manicure set was £28 instead of £65 which seemed a good offer and the No7 Beauty Organiser was half price and actually ended up cheaper than the four brushes I wanted to get from them which were all in the set so that was a nice surprise. Holland and Barrett had their normal buy one get one for 1p sale that seems to be on half of the year but they had Dr Organics sets in there including the Snail Gel one which has intrigued me for a while, I chose the Rose set as well as it had a face mask and scrub in it, plus it was one of the only other things in the offer I wanted and at 1p it’s not bad.
