I do love a good Primark shopping trip, but the ones near me aren’t really the best when it comes to the homeware department, we normally get everything well after it’s been off the shelves (the Chip mugs appeared about six months later at full price) so I was very happy to see some of the Christmas decorations there that I thought would have missed us.
They had a decent amount of the Harry Potter Christmas decorations along with some of the Disney themed sets of two and quite a lot of the decorations that aren’t a collaboration or licensed products from someone else. I could have spent a lot more but I was good… ish.

Another home décor post, I’ve been buying quite a bit recently after redecorating my room and changing it completely, and everything today is from the George Home Range in Asda. I did get the original order a couple of weeks ago but there were a few broken ornaments so they replaced them. Even though the original packaging was rubbish, no padding at all for all of the ceramic products so no wonder they arrived broken and marked, the customer service has been amazing and the replacements were very quick.
This haul is a mix of ornaments, cushions, organisation things and a tea light holder that was too cute not to buy. I have to say that, looking through the George Home range, if I was living by myself and looking to redecorate my home I could quite easily have bought so much more (the iridescent cutlery looks amazing) and it’s pretty budget friendly too. I think the most expensive thing I bought was £14 for three, all of the ornaments under £5 and the cushions are under £10. If you’re looking for some statement pieces then I’d suggest checking them out.

I use the Pixi Glow Tonic every day in my skincare routine but I haven’t really tried their makeup range yet so I’m happy that today’s gift in the Marks and Spencer’s Beauty Advent Calendar is one of their lip glosses. It’s the LipLift Max in the shade Honey Sheen, it’s a peachy gold, maybe rose gold but more peach, with shimmer including some bits which look almost holographic in the light. It’s a plumping lip gloss so the cover is sheer and it should plump your lips as well as make them glossy looking.
This tube is 1g but seems like pretty much a mini version of the full sized one with the doe foot applicator. This is available in a full sized tube of 2.7g for £12 in three different colours. They’re all sheer glosses so I think it’s just the colour of the shimmer that makes them different really. As I’ve been using this gloss today this is probably going to be a bit more of a review than some of the others as it’s an I stand impact kind of product rather than one that needs to be used long term for the effects.

I am so far behind with these brushes, or the style at least, I’m not sure what to call them, I’ve heard them called hairbrush style or toothbrush style so I’ll just go with both of them here. TK Maxx recently had a bit of a push with beauty products designed or made in Australia and this brand, Beauty Innovation, seems to have been one of them. I haven’t heard of them before and there isn’t much about them online, maybe some of you guys have heard of them.
This 3 Brush Set, a large linear brush, small oval brush and medium oval brush cost £19.99 about a month ago when I bought it and I can’t see it online but I know the one local to me still has some of their brushes in it so it’s worth checking out the beauty section if you’re interested in one. As I’ve had them for a month I’ve had a chance to give them a proper try and tried them in the ways they suggest as well as others and have found they work best with certain products, not necessarily the ones they recommend, but I’ll go into that more in a bit.

With the recent heat wave here in the UK I wanted to get a new bikini for in the paddling pool in the garden. My old one is still doing ok but it’s ten years old so it felt like time for a new one! I may have ended up getting more than originally planned when I actually wandered around Tesco and Asda, we went to both because the fridge broke down in Tesco and some of the groceries we actually went shopping for weren’t available.
I ended up with shampoo, conditioner, a mini perfume spray and a bag alongside the bikini and dress I set out to get. None of it was overly expensive, it came to around £70 altogether. It sometimes find that’s one of the problems with shopping for these things in supermarkets; things are such great value that my trolley ends up much fuller than planned!

I realised that I haven’t done a nail look in ages, in fact I haven’t really done much with my nails in ages apart from paint them one colour so, to make myself feel better, I decided to give it a bit of a go and try some dots and lines. Mainly because I just had no idea what I was going to do when I started out so starting with them as a base is always easy to build on rather than specific shapes.
I think I might need to get better at naming nail looks, I am so bad when it comes to naming anything really but I think this one fits given the names and colours I used. As I’ve also had a bit of a play around with the three Gelologoy formula Ciate polishes I used in this nail art I thought I’d do a mini review of each of them as they do seem to work very differently.

About a month ago I bought the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette, a bit late compared to everyone else but I’ve wanted one of the Naked palettes and the rose gold colours in this were so pretty I had to go for this one. It cost £38 on the John Lewis website, I decided against getting it from somewhere cheaper as I’ve already had one fake Naked 2 palette from eBay I didn’t want to risk another fake. It’s more than I spend on most palettes, I think the only exception is one from the Balm, but I thought it would be worth it having heard such great reviews of it since it’s been out.

On the weekend I went shopping in the McArthur Glen outlet shopping centre in South Wales, I always go when we go to visit my grandparents and normally end up buying more than I should. The past few years I’ve been buying things from the Fossil store there, I have a silver necklace that charms clip onto and a rose gold coloured bracelet that at the moment has one clock charm on it. I normally go in to see what they have as the offers are so good.
I ended up buying three charms, two silver and one rose gold, and a pair of earrings. The earrings weren’t something I was planning on getting as I haven’t seen any of theirs that I’ve wanted in their outlet store before but they just seemed so ‘me’ and I loved them as soon as I saw them. I’ve had a bit of a sort out of stud earrings recently and wanted to get some new ones to replace the cheap ones I’d got rid of so they weren’t too much of an impulse buy, at least that’s what I’m telling myself!
