This is a bit late, it was meant to go up last week but apparently my scheduled post didn’t even save. Anyway, after the sales of January I decided to have a no buy February. We’re going on holiday in April, though it was originally going to be in February, and I bought a lot of things at the end of January for this so I wanted to save a bit for some spending money too.
I did set a few rules, the main one being this was for beauty and fashion except for the Red Nose Day t-shirts. I get one every time they release them and they were Disney this year so I had to get one. I did plan on buying a couple of things for my room, some final things for organising my wardrobe space and some plant pots that I’ve been meaning to get for over a year now, but I ended up getting none of them so I thought I’d do a post that has everything I bought in February, or rather everything that isn’t an essential thing that I bought in February, and I think I did pretty well!
I realise that this year I haven’t actually done that well when it comes to actual book reviews, I will admit my first book of the year has proved a longer read than I expected. Today’s book review is kind of a mix of a notebook and a colouring book and has been sold in TK Maxx in partnership with Comic Relief with a portion of the money going towards the charity as with the rest of the range. This product donated £2 of the £5.99 to the charity.
This year’s Red Nose Day collection at TK Maxx is based around photographs by fashion photographer Rankin. They’re all photos if abimals, though they’re either dressed up or have a red nose added in afterwards. The majority are black and white with one in colour, which lends itself to a colouring in book as you can give them the traditional colours or go pop art and bright colours. These are all available exclusively at TK Maxx, though I think the books and other more home products are also available at Home Sense, their home and lifestyle stores, and is available online here or in stores.
I recently ordered a few bits from TK Maxx, I wasn’t planning on getting much besides the t-shirt but I needed a notebook and when I saw the one I felt like I had to get it and it’s for a good cause, at least I think Comic Relief is a good cause. When I was looking around the site I saw the mini bottles set of Marc Jacobs perfumes, one of them being Honey which I love, and ended up getting that too. I’m a sucker for mini things plus the fact I like having small bottles for travelling as in the past I’ve had glass bottles break and I’d rather lose 4ml of perfume than a full 30ml of 50ml. All of these products can be found on the TK Maxx website and the T-shirt and notebooks are probably available in most of the stores around the UK until Red Nose Day, 13th March, though smaller sizes tend to sell out quickly, at least that’s what I’ve found in the past.
