This nail look isn’t exactly fresh but I had fun doing it so I wanted to share it with you guys, and I kind of love the final effect so will definitely be doing this more with other pigments too. I’ve had some sample sizes of loose eyeshadow pigments hanging around for year without getting any use so I thought I’d see if they worked for nail art, it’s not like I had anything to lose as I was probably going to get rid of them somehow.
I decided to go for a multicoloured pastel mix of colours for most of the nails with some added nail art with white, that was supposed to look like sparkle and stars but kind of failed, and a pearly unicorn on each of the thumbs. I’m happy with how this has turned out and think I’ll be going for the pastel multicoloured nails for a family wedding coming up, just worth knowing that they don’t necessarily last that long so I’ll be doing them a day or two before rather than a while in advance.
I almost thought I’d skip the monthly favourites this month but when I actually thought back over what I’ve used this month I realised there are a few products that I really liked, there’s nothing actually makeup in here and I think I managed to avoid posting anything in a previous monthly favourites but quite a few of these have been things I’ve reviews in the past on this blog. If I have then I’m going to link to the full review post if you want to read more.
There were a couple of other favourites, things I’ve been watching or listening to this month that I normally include in this bit. There weren’t many things I could think of that’s new and I did want to include a Cadbury crème Egg but I may have ended up eating all twelve in the box that I bought last month, they did last longer than I thought they would though. I know I put them in my monthly favourites this time last year but they’re just so good I had to put them again. If you haven’t had them they’re basically a small Cadbury chocolate egg with a very sweet white goo in the middle and a yellow bit that looks like a yolk, they’re sweet and sticky and it’s very hard to just eat one of them.
A couple of weeks ago I went to Sally’s Express for the first time, it was recommended by a local hairdresser and we mainly went to get hair things but I saw the price of the nail varnishes and had to get some. I bought four as they are in a buy three get one free offer but the two I’m reviewing today are the ones by Morgan Taylor. These are also in the Kung Fu Panda 3 Limited Edition Range so I’m not sure how easily available they are elsewhere or how long they’ll be available but they seem to be in a lot of places in the UK at the moment.
The two colours I chose are Po-Riwinkle and Warriors Don’t Wine as I’ve been looking for some similar colours to two I have and love already. The Sally’s site seems to be down at the moment (or not working for me) but these cost around £5 if you can use a salon discount or I think they were around £10 without which is cheaper than they seem to be normally. Marks and Spencer are having an offer where they’re £8.80 but I can’t see these exact colours in it.
