I may have ended up spending more than I originally planned in the Lush Boxing Day Sale. I only went into be one day but I’d originally planned on getting the 12 Days of Christmas gift box and decided against it when I saw it. I ended up regretting that decision and as my mum.and sister were going in the next day asked them to get it so here’s everything that came in that gift set.
The Twelve Days of Christmas hat box is always one of the big ones from Lush, they bring out a version every year, as it has twelve of their Christmas products in it. I think it was £35 in the half price sale and was one that there were quite a few left of so there may be some in some of the lush stores. This year it has a wide range of different product types as well as scents so could be a good introduction to Lush if it’s in your budget.
As some of these things may be still available in your local Lush I thought I’d do a bit of a mini review of each of them in case you manage to find any to pick up. They also sometimes seem to pop up in the kitchen throughout the year do if there’s something you’re interested in it may return at some point. Don’t quote me on that, I don’t know what’s coming or how Lush decides what’s going up, it’s just going by past experience.
With the days getting colder it’s perfect bath weather and, having bought it in a recent haul, I decided to give the Plum Snow Bubble Bar from the limited edition Christmas range in Lush a go. This is a fair sized bubble bar, I used half for one bath but I can see it lasting for up to four if you’re careful with it. It costs £5.95 but is definitely bigger than the standard bubble bars Lush do.
Scent wise this is the same scent as the products in the Plum Rain scent range, just the solid bubble bar version rather than the shower gel that was available or the current body spray. I think it’s also the same scent as the sugar plum lip products, it definitely smells the same as the lip tint I got last year to me, but I’m not 100% sure on that one.
I feel like I’ve had to do this a few times recently but I’m starting this post saying sorry about another computer issue! It seems to be stuck typing \ all the time so sorry if any rogue back slashes appear in this post, I think I caught them all but one or two might sneak through! Also these photos have been taken on my iPad. Hopefully normal service will resume shortly but it may be time to admit the computer has had enough. It seems a bit like it’s one thing after the other recently doesn’t it? Anyway, on with the scheduled post!
I may not buy as much Lush any more, six years ago this blog would have pretty much been 90% Lush, but I seem to always have a bit of a weakness when it comes to their Christmas range. This year, like in recent years, they have a mix of returning favourites alongside new scents and products. I did end up getting more than I originally planned with a mix of new and old and I think I’m most interested in the newest product type of the solid shower gel, to see how it compares to the traditional bottles and their jellies.
I bought quite a range of products types, though I mainly stuck with bath products as I know some of their skin care products in the past work for me but then it’s a rush of finding a new one that works when the stash runs out. I would also say that, going by my past experiences, the shower gels and similar tend to be the most consistent when it comes to scent, bubble bars tend to be ok but dry out and lose scent over time more than they used to so try not to stash too many early on in the season.
