Since getting the semi-matte lipsticks from Models Own I wanted to do a comparison to the Sleek ones that were released early this year. I don’t have all of the colours from both ranges but I do have some and wanted to see what they were like side by side. I have compared everything I could think of to compare, though I have done actual reviews for each of the colours I have, you can find the Sleek ones here (the original colours) and here (The Whimsical Wonderland colours) and the Models Own ones from the Dare to Bare collection here.
At the moment the only Models Own colours I can find in this range are the Dare to Bare collection colours, though if they’re popular I would imagine that their range will increase in the future and I’m not sure how permanent the Dare to Bare collection is. Sleek currently have twelve in their permanent line alongside three in each of the two most recent collections.

Recently Models Own released a Dare to Bare collection which includes an eyeshadow palette, nail varnishes, semi-matte lipsticks and a pressed powder all in neutral colours. It seems like the semi-matte lipsticks are a product that have been released by different brands, I already have one some by Sleek so I thought it would be interesting to see what the Models Own version was like.
I chose two of the semi-matte colours, there are five in total, the ones I picked are 03 Kiss and 05 Naked, both of them are fairly light and are ‘my lips but better’ kind of colours. The colours appear very differently online to in person and vary quite a bit between the Models Own website and the ASOS one where I bought them. The ASOS website is a lot closer to the colour in person than their own site as they appear darker on the other site. These cost £6.99 each and have 4.5g (0.16oz) of product in them.

About a month ago I bought the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette, a bit late compared to everyone else but I’ve wanted one of the Naked palettes and the rose gold colours in this were so pretty I had to go for this one. It cost £38 on the John Lewis website, I decided against getting it from somewhere cheaper as I’ve already had one fake Naked 2 palette from eBay I didn’t want to risk another fake. It’s more than I spend on most palettes, I think the only exception is one from the Balm, but I thought it would be worth it having heard such great reviews of it since it’s been out.
