My First Declutter of 2019!

The First Declutter of 2019 title image. Behind the text is a photo of all the products I decluttered spread out on a chair

I’ve been working on decluttering for the past couple of months, I’ve actually been pretty good and my cupboards look so much tidier. I’ve been sorting out my makeup recently and realised how much of the stuff I was keeping is just not me at all, or at least not any more. I’ve actually counted up how many things are in this declutter post and there’s fifty three pieces of makeup or accessories that are going! I didn’t realise I had that much!

I did start this off with a little review of each of them, but when you have fifty three to get through it would be so long, so instead I’m just going to link to any that I’ve already reviewed on here and say why I’m getting rid of them. I have to say there are a few that I never thought I’d declutter but they’re so old that if I did decide to reach for them I don’t think they’d do me any good. I have a new rule; if it smells like wax crayons, get rid of it!

Onto the decluttering….

Blogmas 2017: Day 11!

No more snow today but I actually feel kind of accomplished with the things I managed to do and feeling nice and warm inside. It’s probably one of the best things about snow, besides how beautiful it is when it’s fresh, being able to curl up in the warm in front of a fire or under a blanket. Today’s wax melt has been started and it’s the Christmas Roses scent which has pretty rose petals floating in it. This is from Seasonal Scents Shop on Etsy in the Twelve Scents of Christmas natural wax tarts set (£15) which I’m using as a sort of advent calendar.

I’m always happy to get beauty tools in these Marks and Spencer’s beauty advent calendars as they tend to be good quality, I kind of wish there was more than the one in this year’s calendar. It’s a Sculpting Sponge from Look Good Feel Better and a pretty purple colour. I have so many of these beauty blender style sponges but I love them so I’m always happy with more. Look Good Feel Better is a charity that helps people with cancer with confidence building skin care and makeup workshops. It’s not something I particularly think of when I think of cancer charities but it’s a good cause and something I think is worth supporting. Plus the past tools I’ve had from them have been good quality so they’ve been on my list of makeup brush companies when I need new ones. This is the full sized version and costs £7.50, the only difference between this and the one you buy is the packaging it comes in.

Review: Look Good Feel Better Mini Powder Brush

If you’ve been following me for a while you may be aware of my love of makeup brushes, I have more than I need but you can never have too many right? So I was very happy when I got  the Mini Powder Brush from Look Good Feel Better in the Marks and Spencer’s advent calendar in December. As far as I can see this brush isn’t available to buy separately but is part of a mini travel set which costs £20 or you can buy the full sized brush for £13 on its own, I think the only difference is the handle size really.

Look Good Feel Better is a company that I’ve been looking at getting brushes from for a while though I haven’t needed a replacement since finding them. It is a charity that helps people who suffer from cancer with the visible affects of the disease and treatment and money from the sale of each of their products is donated to the charity. So not only do you get a makeup brush you also help a good cause. The brushes are cruelty free and are designed for sensitive skin so if you have problems with brushes irritating your skin they may be a make to consider. I’m not sure how easy they are to find outside of the UK but I know they’re sold in Marks and Spencer and Boots here as well as a lot of online stores.

Advent 2016: Day 12!

I’m very happy with today’s advent calendar presents, the Marks and Spencer beauty advent calendar has a Look Good Feel Better Mini Powder Brush to add to my growing makeup brush collection. The Yankee Candle tea light today was Snowflake Cookie, a very sweet one but still one I use to sweeten others and the Ciate Mini Mani Month has a very sparkly Fortune Teller glitter top coat. I also think that the box for the Ciate one may be my favourites from the calendar, I just like the mini boxes in this year’s one and going to keep them for wrapping presents.
