Review: Alpha-H Liquid Gold (and Limited Edition Rose Version)

alpha-h-liquid-gold-rose-limited-edition-1

I was planning on doing this review of both of the versions of the Liquid Gold I have from Alpha-H and then realised that the Limited Edition Rose version isn’t available in many places. I’ll leave it in because I did find it still available online (£37 for a 100ml bottle here) and it might be available ion various online stores in other countries so might be worth knowing if it’s worth searching for over the original version.

Liquid Gold is an exfoliated, or I find it works as one, with glycolic acid. It’s quite strong and works in the same way as products like the Pixi Glow Tonic where it uses chemicals to exfoliate and remove dead skin rather than a physical scrub. The original version is available in a lot of places and the price various from £30-£40 for a 100ml bottle, though £33.50 seems to be the most common price. As it’s stronger than a lot of other similar products it’s recommended you use it once in the evening every two days, rather than twice a day as the Glow Tonic recommends. I’ve had the original for a while and I got the Rose version in an advent calendar but I haven’t got round to giving them a proper try so was interested to see how they’d work compared to other similar products I’ve tried.

Blogmas Day 12

Day twelve and we’re nearly half way through the Marks and Spencer beauty advent calendar. Today’s product was the Alpha H Liquid Gold Rose limited edition version, another skin care product but this is an exfoliating toner like a more concentrated version of a the Pixi Glow Tonic, from what I can find about it anyway. I did have the standard version of this last year in the Marks and Spencer’s advent calendar and tried it so it it’ll be interesting to see how this Rose version compares.

This bottle is 50ml, which is half the size of the regular sized product. The full sized on costs £37 so this mini bottle would be worth £18.50. I do like this style product, I get on well with the liquid exfoliates, but I know that the ones including acids can cause reactions for a lot of people. Although we’ve had a lot of skin care I quite like that, having looked at all of the things, including this means you have almost a complete skin care routine, the only thing missing is the cleanser.

Advent 2016: Day 8!

Today’s calendars had a blue nail varnish I called Pool Party in the Ciate Mini Mani Month, I think it may have been released as part of a summer range buts it’s a permanent product, the Yankee Candle had my second tea light with the Winter Glow scent and the Marks and Soencers advent calendar had a bottle of Alpha H Liquid Gold which sounds interesting and not one I’ve heard of, or remember at least.

Day eight and it’s surprising how empty the Marks and Soencer advent calendar is looking. I’ve been putting the Ciate empty boxes back in for some reason, I guess I like the look of them more, so it’s less obvious on that one. We finally finished the decorating today and have been writing Christmas cards. It always makes me feel more Christmassy when we’re writing Christmas cards and it’s always interesting to see how many people’s handwriting you see every year only at Christmas. Or maybe it’s just me that finds it interesting.
