The NYX Lip Lingerie range was actually the product I was most looking forward to when it comes to liquid lipsticks but for ages the colours I wanted weren’t in stock when I wanted to make an order. However, on my latest Boots order Embellishment was available so that went straight in my basket. The Lip Lingerie line cost £7 each and come in a 4ml (0.13 fl. oz.) tube.
These liquid lipsticks are a matte formula that is supposed to be highly pigmented and long lasting and feel as if you have nothing on your lips. I was interested to see if that’s true as most mattes are known for being drying so any I can find that don’t leave me wanting to use lip balm every ten minutes are always good.
Embellishment is a fairly light colour, I would say it’s on the light end of the dark colour scale, if that makes sense. It definitely seens to be one that it depends on the light you’re in, at times it looks like a sort of lavender colour, others it’s definitely a darker ‘nude’ colour with a blue or purple tint.
I have never tried anything from NYX, at least that I can remember, so I decided to spend some Boots points and get a few products. One of the ones I chose was this Soft Matte Lip Cream in the colour Milan which, online, looks like a mid or pale dusty rose kind of colour. I say online because it’s one of those that’s very different on your lips.
This costs £6 from the Boots website and there’s a great range of colours, I love the look of some of the purples and deep blues but decided to play it safe and go for something I’d actually wear. This is a fairly small product at 14ml, compared to their liquid suede and other similar lip products, but it’s still not a bad price for a liquid lipstick.
Over the years I’ve tried so many different lip products, I want to like lipsticks and colours but it seemed to take a lot of failures to find the best makes for me. Most of these lip products are from those failures, though again I seem to have a lot from free sets or sets I bought for other products in them. I do love reading declutter posts, there’s something about getting rid of a lot of products that you’re not using that just feels so satisfying and reading and watching others declutter always helps me, though I’m not always the most ruthless.
I did do a bit of a declutter of my eyeliners and you can find the post for that here. As with that post if I’ve done a review or first impressions of any of these lip product I’ll put a link to them. I don’t think I have for many as a lot of these I had before I started my blog two and a half years ago, which shows how old they are and some of them should probably be going on age alone.
