A while ago Fortune Cookie Soap did a Doctor Who themed collection, though it sold out so fast I didn’t get to buy any of it. They then did a sort of pre-order one where you ordered what you wanted and they made it. There were quite a few products in this collection and I did have more in my basket originally but the postage was so high it was getting to be £40 for postage alone, I ended up getting it down to four products from the range and one from the permanent line.
Other than the permanent product, the tea tree solid shampoo, the rest of these aren’t available at the moment but as there is an off chance they may bring it back at some point, they seem to do this with the most popular products appearing for a limited time a while after they were first released, I thought I’d do a mini review sort of thing for each one. I also find that most of their product types are fairly consistent so if you’re curious about their shower jellies then the way this one behaves is likely to be similar to others in the same product type. Unfortunately I have found it difficult to find anything with an actual scent description for these so I’m just going by what I smell, I’m not sure how accurate it will be to what it’s supposed to smell of but I’ll give it my best shot.
I’m pretty good when it comes to not buying too much makeup or body products, I might have quite a lot of loose pigments from Shiro Cosmetics and eyeshadows palettes but I’m going through my makeup collection every so often to make sure it doesn’t build up. I always make sure that all of my makeup will fit inside one drawer and all of my perfume and nail varnishes fit inside another. I know I have more than I need but I like collecting the makeup and I don’t go over the top with most things.
This week as I haven’t been feeling good I decided to get the couple of tray things I keep my makeup in and sort through them, does anyone else find that clearing things out and sorting through things makes you feel more refreshed? Other than a few things, which I will say as I go along, I am not actually throwing these things out, they’re going to be offered to people and some of them possibly put on eBay in a while when I’ve got some more things from my room when I sort it better.
I have recently ended up watching a lot of decluttering videos on YouTube as well so I think that inspired me a bit. Like with a lot of those YouTubers I watch most of these things I am getting rid of because I have dupes that I prefer or that I have simply not used them in so long or I like them but they aren’t me. I’ll stop giving an explanation and get on with it.
I think almost all of my Lush orders end up being this time of year with the Valentine’s, Mother’s Day and Easter products as I tend to like the scents they come out with in the ranges. This time there were a couple of the Kitchen products I wanted too so I got them as well. They were the Happy Blooming Jelly and the Happy soap. The Kitchen makes products, a different one each day of the week, and these are only available in small batches so they run out quickly. These are either old products that have been discontinued or sometimes exclusives like perfumes, Oxford Street Store products or products that are going to be released in the future.
The Valentine’s Day range doesn’t really have a theme scent wise, at least that I can tell, and some are old scents returning from previous years. I only ordered four things from the range as they were the ones that appealed to me the most. The ones I chose were Prince Charming shower cream, Roses all the Way soap, The Kiss lip gloss and the Unicorn Horn bubble bar. All of the products that I bought in the valentine’s Day range are vegan friendly. The remaining two are a lip scrub in the same scent as the lip gloss and the Lover Lamp bath bomb that has a chocolate orange scent which I am not really a fan of in bath products.
As far as I know these products are going to be available until Valentine’s Day, that’s the way they normally work but if something goes out of stock close to Valentine’s Day I think in the past they haven’t restocked them. Other times there have been limited edition products a while after they’ve been discontinued.
Today is another great day in the Marks and Spencer advent calendar with a full sized Stila Lip Glaze in Sugar Plum. I can’t find this exact shade on the Marks and Spencer website so I think it may be a limited edition Christmas colour though I don’t think it’s an exclusive in the calendar. I’ve never tried a Stila Lip Glaze before but I’ve heard a lot about them, unfortunately after trying it it seems to have gone missing so I’m going to have to see if someone else picked it up, I’ve still used it a couple of times so I have a good idea of what it’ll be like. The Yankee Candle tea light today is a Snowflake Cookie one which is one for you if you like your sweet bakery scents. This is the last of the tea lights, tomorrow is a larger votive in a new scent so I’m excited to see what that one is like.
This may seem another odd combination, though most of them are beauty products this time so it’s slightly less of an odd combination than some in the past. I have posted about a few of them before but I not in my favourites and I’m a bit late on finding a few of them as I know they’ve been favourites for others for a while. The Soap and Glory perfume is one I bought a couple of years ago and loved then but sort of stopped using and rediscovered, I love it when that happens.
