Halloween Decorations

Hi guys! I can’t believe how long it’s been since my last post. A combination of health, computer issues and life getting in the way! Anyway, it’s nearly Halloween and this year I decided I would actually get some cute decorations to put around. Nothing major, though I may have my eye on some of the Spooky Town buildings for next year, and they’re all pretty small but I wanted to share them with you guys anyway.

I would have put this post up sooner, but the Matalan order took over two weeks, and I couldn’t just not include the wizard guy, he’s too cute to be left out!

This way to the (not so) spooky decorations

Lockdown Goals (Even Though We’re Not as Locked Down Any More!)

I can’t believe it’s been nearly three months since my last post, everything is so different now to back then. I’m not sure what month it is sometime let alone what day! Since then I think most places in the world have been in some kind of lock down or another and each day sort of blurs into the next. I’ve also had my 31st birthday (literally 2 days after the last post) and my Grandma died so I’m still sort of recovering from that as it’s all been so surreal.

I should probably mention that I actually wrote this goals list about two months ago, so they’re not all that up to date in some ways but I didn’t have any to add and still wanted to do a post on them. Even with lockdown changing here in England, things opening up and life getting closer to normal, I still think it’ll be a long way till it’s properly back to how it was and a lot of time will be spent at home so I’m trying to stick to the goals. To be honest the routine parts are probably things that I should try to stick to afterwards anyway!

Read more for my lockdown goals, even if I’m a bit late!

Another Christmas Home Haul: A Bit of Everything

The title image for the post. It says Christmas Everything and there's a photo of all the Christmas decorations lying on the bed

I have never had a proper theme when it comes to Christmas decorations, it tends to be throw all the colours at the tree and see how it looks. This year, however, I decided to have a bit of an overhaul and give a themed look a go. It won’t be for everything, just the main tree and bits around it, but having seen all the natural wooden and white looks out there I thought I’d give it a go. Considering my decorations mainly looks like a metallic rainbow this meant a bit of a shopping spree.

This post is probably more hauls than haul, I may have got a bit carried away and bought from a few places. It’s a mix of The Range, Ikea, Disney Store and eBay.

Primark Christmas Haul

Primark Christmas Haul title image. behind the text box is a phot of the products I bought against a white wall

I think it’s close enough to December to be talking about Christmas, or more specifically Christmas decorations. There’s so many styles around this year and I decided that I’m going to have a bit of a makeover of my Christmas decorating style as I haven’t bought much new for the past few years and it always feels so similar to me so there might be a couple more decoration hauls coming up as well.

The first haul is from Primark, though it’s been more like three trips where I bought other bits too but I thought I’d wait until I had enough Christmas things to be worth a post by themselves. There’s definitely more I’d be tempted to get if they have them in stock in stores I go to.

Summer Haul Part 2: A Bit of Everything – Boots, Matalan, Primark and TK Maxx

With our holiday a week away there were some bits I needed to get and some finishing touches I had planned for my room over a year ago now that I hadn’t bought so I decided to finish off both in one go. There’s a mix of home, beauty and fashion from TK Maxx, Matalan, Boots and Primark so there really is a bit of everything in this haul, or maybe that should be hauls.

All this holiday shopping has definitely got me feeling summery, even if it’s cold and wet here in the UK at the moment!

Paperchase Christmas Haul

paperchase-christmas-haul-1

It feels too early to be buying anything Christmassy really but I know that the Paperchase Christmas decorations I’ve wanted have sold out in the past so when these decorations appeared on their website I had to get them early. I’ve also been doing some organising with my nail varnishes and needed a larger box. It came in a large box, though I did manage to keep my basket fairly empty as I tend to go a bit over the top with the stationery section of Paperchase.

Primark Haul: Harry Potter, Friends and Disney

primark-haul-august-2018-harry-potter-disney-friends-home-1.jpg

Having spent more time than I probably should watching YouTube videos on the Primark goodies available and checking out their Instagram I went on a trip to a local Primark. I hadn’t been to the Peterborough one before and was hoping they’d have a larger home section than the one I normally go to, which it did slightly but still not the best. I think I may have missed most of the sale items but there were some of the new Friends, Harry Potter and Disney bits there.

There were definitely a lot of the latest clothes ranges around but I was good and tried to avoid most of them, I love the mustard and all the fluffy things around this year so I have a feeling there will be an Autumn/Winter Primark clothes haul coming up soon. I didn’t get everything I planned but probably half of my list was crossed off and there’s a mix of Disney, Harry Potter and Friends. I do love all the officially licensed products they’ve been coming out with, especially all the home ranges.

George at Asda Haul: Copper, Dinosaurs and a Cactus

george-home-haul-8.jpg

Another home décor post, I’ve been buying quite a bit recently after redecorating my room and changing it completely, and everything today is from the George Home Range in Asda. I did get the original order a couple of weeks ago but there were a few broken ornaments so they replaced them. Even though the original packaging was rubbish, no padding at all for all of the ceramic products so no wonder they arrived broken and marked, the customer service has been amazing and the replacements were very quick.

This haul is a mix of ornaments, cushions, organisation things and a tea light holder that was too cute not to buy. I have to say that, looking through the George Home range, if I was living by myself and looking to redecorate my home I could quite easily have bought so much more (the iridescent cutlery looks amazing) and it’s pretty budget friendly too. I think the most expensive thing I bought was £14 for three, all of the ornaments under £5 and the cushions are under £10. If you’re looking for some statement pieces then I’d suggest checking them out.

The Range Metal Circle Wooden Shelf, My New Nerd Shelf (kind of)

The-Range-circle-shelves-1.jpg

I’ve recently redecorated my room and downsized on the figures and things I have out on the side, I found I had so much out that it was getting cluttered and so much to dust! I’m not sure how anyone with lots of figures out stops them from looking all dusty. I will admit this was a bit of an impulse buy, I wasn’t planning on having small shelves, but I love it and I’m planning on rotating my figures out on it every month or so to keep them less dusty and it keeps my room less cluttered. This shelf, or shelves I guess, was £14.99 from The Range.

I’ve seen so many nerd shelf photos and seen them in so many videos on YouTube I felt like having one myself, but keeping it small, so I plan on having this as my space for my figures, and Lego if I make little display things that will fit. At the moment I have a mix of my Disney Funko Pop and minis, Harry Potter, Doctor Who Lego and my Nendoroid. I’ll be rotating things out but it means that, although I’ve ended up going for a more minimalist look for most of my room, I still have a space for these and it makes it feel more me.

Paperchase Haul

paperchasehaulheader

When I made this order I started out planning to get three or four things but my basket kind of grew. It turned into a bit of a mix of everything really, though since taking photos I have a feeling that quite a few bits may be used in future photos, even though only one or two things were bought for this. I never thought I’d be buying things to use as props but I want to work on my photography for my blog so have been browsing more home decor sections and it’s very hard not to buy a load of things I don’t need to decorate my room.

This haul is from Paperchase, I think most of this is available in a lot of their stores, even the smaller one near me has quite a bit of this, but it is all still available online. I do love their stationery and always go to them when it comes to Christmas decorations but I haven’t really looked at them for décor and I could have bought a lot more.
