I have never had a proper theme when it comes to Christmas decorations, it tends to be throw all the colours at the tree and see how it looks. This year, however, I decided to have a bit of an overhaul and give a themed look a go. It won’t be for everything, just the main tree and bits around it, but having seen all the natural wooden and white looks out there I thought I’d give it a go. Considering my decorations mainly looks like a metallic rainbow this meant a bit of a shopping spree.
This post is probably more hauls than haul, I may have got a bit carried away and bought from a few places. It’s a mix of The Range, Ikea, Disney Store and eBay.
I think it’s close enough to December to be talking about
Christmas, or more specifically Christmas decorations. There’s so many styles
around this year and I decided that I’m going to have a bit of a makeover of my
Christmas decorating style as I haven’t bought much new for the past few years
and it always feels so similar to me so there might be a couple more decoration
hauls coming up as well.
The first haul is from Primark, though it’s been more like three trips where I bought other bits too but I thought I’d wait until I had enough Christmas things to be worth a post by themselves. There’s definitely more I’d be tempted to get if they have them in stock in stores I go to.
With our holiday a week away there were some bits I needed to get and some finishing touches I had planned for my room over a year ago now that I hadn’t bought so I decided to finish off both in one go. There’s a mix of home, beauty and fashion from TK Maxx, Matalan, Boots and Primark so there really is a bit of everything in this haul, or maybe that should be hauls.
All this holiday shopping has definitely got me feeling summery, even if it’s cold and wet here in the UK at the moment!
It feels like it’s been a while since I last posted, it’s
probably not been all that long but I think I needed to step back and life sort
of took over. I’ll do more of a post about it soon but blogging was getting
stressful, which is not what I ever want it to be, and this break means I’m
actually looking forward to posting and have all these ideas. Anyway, onto the
I recently decided that I wasn’t really going to do many
hauls, but as I’m going away to Fuerteventura in April I had so many things I wanted
to get ready for that or that were on my list to buy after the no-buy February
and my general decluttering that I felt like I wanted to share with you guys
what I was getting. This is all from Boots and most of it is actually Soap and
Glory but I am so ready for these summer products that I got a bit excited and
may have bought almost everything in their new scent that they released in February.
It did help that almost everything that I bought was in a mix and match three
for two at the time so I got a few of these things free.
This is a bit late, it was meant to go up last week but apparently my scheduled post didn’t even save. Anyway, after the sales of January I decided to have a no buy February. We’re going on holiday in April, though it was originally going to be in February, and I bought a lot of things at the end of January for this so I wanted to save a bit for some spending money too.
I did set a few rules, the main one being this was for beauty and fashion except for the Red Nose Day t-shirts. I get one every time they release them and they were Disney this year so I had to get one. I did plan on buying a couple of things for my room, some final things for organising my wardrobe space and some plant pots that I’ve been meaning to get for over a year now, but I ended up getting none of them so I thought I’d do a post that has everything I bought in February, or rather everything that isn’t an essential thing that I bought in February, and I think I did pretty well!
Last week was a bit of an odd week, I started out with one
of the bugs going around and ended up with sinusitis so sorry for a lack of
posts last week. I’m hoping the antibiotics will kick in and everything will go
back to normal this week as I actually have the next four weeks worth of posts
planned and some of them photographed. Starting to feel organised finally! And with
the final deliveries from my post Christmas orders arriving last week I thought
it was time to do a post on everything I got.
I think it’s about a month from my first order but some of
them took a while to get here and I thought I’d put everything in one big post.
It’s a big mix of everything from home and beauty to nerdy figures and some are
full price but I wanted to get them with Christmas money from relatives. If
anything is still available I’ll put a link to it and I’m pretty sure that most
of these will be getting their own review posts so if there’s anything in here
you want to see first then please comment and I’ll move them up the list.
I tend not to buy much Lushany more, ten years ago everything I had was by them, but I always get dragged back in at Halloween and Christmas. This year I’ve not gone over the top, for me anyway, but I do like to try new products that sound nice to me to know if I’m going to try and get them in the sale. I got three of the Halloween products and quiet a few of the new Christmas products so I thought I’d put them all in one post.
This is pretty much a first impressions post, though I have used a couple of them before if they aren’t new this year I can’t say that they’re definitely the same as in past years even if they smell like it.
It feels so early but a lot of stores are releasing their Christmas products. As I was planning on trying a few of the Body Shop’s new products I saw these two sets and wanted to give the new Christmas scents a try. This year they’re releasing a range of products in Berry Bon Bon (mixed berry sweets), Peppermint Candy Cane (sweet mint) and Vanilla Marshmallow (sweet vanilla, which didn’t appeal to me) and these sacks looked like they’d give a nice range of product types to try as well as meaning I now have some great travel sized products. I was quite good and resisted the advent calendars, for now anyway. I really want the £45 one but I would probably end up with too many advent calendars and no money if I got all the ones I want this year!
Some of the other products I chose are ones I’ve either wanted to try for a while or have just found out about and couldn’t resist. I’ve sort of fallen in and out of love with the Body Shop products over the years as they can be a bit of a single note scent and them being owned by L’Oreal, but their ginger shampoo is amazing and I’m always drawn in by the Christmas scents so I wanted to try them early this year rather than leaving it to the sales and missing out because I don’t know what they smell like.
I’ve loved enamel pins for as long as I can remember, I used to collect charity ones when I was little, so I love the fact that they’re in fashion at the moment and seem to be everywhere. I’ve also loved Pokémon for years, like a lot of people I grew up playing it and still do, so when I saw the enamel pins from Petty Bones Club I had to get some.
At the moment Petty Bones Club also has a Kickstarter campaign going with some cute Sailor Moon and Pokémon pins. It’s been fully funded so far but there are more pins to unlock so you should check it out if you’re looking for something like that. I’ve got my eye on a few but I could probably have got a few more if it was in my budget!
Having spent more time than I probably should watching YouTube videos on the Primark goodies available and checking out their Instagram I went on a trip to a local Primark. I hadn’t been to the Peterborough one before and was hoping they’d have a larger home section than the one I normally go to, which it did slightly but still not the best. I think I may have missed most of the sale items but there were some of the new Friends, Harry Potter and Disney bits there.
There were definitely a lot of the latest clothes ranges around but I was good and tried to avoid most of them, I love the mustard and all the fluffy things around this year so I have a feeling there will be an Autumn/Winter Primark clothes haul coming up soon. I didn’t get everything I planned but probably half of my list was crossed off and there’s a mix of Disney, Harry Potter and Friends. I do love all the officially licensed products they’ve been coming out with, especially all the home ranges.
