I don’t often review hair products, I tend to stick with ones I know and as my hair takes pretty much anything I throw at it it’s rare for a product to make a huge difference to it. However the Josh Wood Radiant Shine Hair Treatment Oil, which has been sat in my cupboard for ages after I first tried it and meant to go back to it but forgot about it, seems to have helped with certain hair problems I have now I’ve given it a proper try.
This bottle is from the Marks and Spencer’s Advent Calendar in 2016, that shows how long it’s been sat in the cupboard, and is a 30ml bottle which isn’t full sized. The full sized version is 48 ml and used to cost £12.50 in Marks and Spencer’s. I’ll leave that link in even though it says it’s out of stock in case it appears back again. Otherwise you can find it on amazon and eBay. I don’t normally post reviews of products that are discontinued but it’s still fairly easy to find and I can’t find anywhere that says it’s actually been completely discontinued, though I’m assuming it is as it says ‘no longer available’. It’s a pity but I wanted to share the review anyway as it’s helped my hair and it might be worth trying if you have similar problems.
Day five and I may have spent half an hour attaching string to baubles today. Why don’t they sell them with the string already on them? I know some do but I have a pack of 100 that don’t and this takes way too long and does not help with the Christmas spirit feeling. I am loving how many people I’m subscribed to on YouTube are doing vlogmas, or something similar, this year. That along with the Yogscast Jingle Jam is adding even more advent style goodness with daily videos. Do you guys watch vlogmasses? Is that even a word? Any recommendations on ones to watch?
Onto the advent calendars and I’m very happy with today’s, partly because I do love trying new hair products as mine takes pretty much anything you throw at it so they never go to waste, and because it’s finally the day for the Gelology top coat! The Marks and Spencer advent calendar had a bottle of Josh Wood Radiant Shine Hair Treatment Oil, something I am looking forward to trying and I’ll definitely do a full review of this in the future. The Ciate Mini Mani Month has a mini bottle of the Gelology Top Coat and the Yankee Candle tea light for today was Bundle Up. I’m really loving having these to burn each day, they’re big enough that they last for an afternoon or evening and they melt all the wax at the same time so they’re a bit like a wax tart and the scent seems to throw better than with other scented tea lights I’ve had. I also just realised that my iPad has been autocorrecting Gelology to geology every time without me noticing. Oops!
I got a mini bottle of the Percy and Reed Smoother, Sealed and Sensational Volumising No Oil Oil and I’ve tried it a few times to see how it works so today I’m going to post a review on it. The bottle I have is 30ml which seems to be a half sized bottle as the full size is 60ml from John Lewis and Marks and Spencer. The full sized bottle costs £14 in both stores and I think they seem to be the best price I could find online. I got this in my Marks and Spencer advent calendar so I’ve had it for nearly four months so I know if it works for me.
This No Oil Oil, I’ll call it that for the rest of the review as the name is too long to retype each time, claims to not only help volumise and make it sleeker and shinier but also it helps with strengthening and adding heat protection. There is a tip inside saying about trying to warm it up on a blusher brush and apply it with that so I have given that a go too, to give it a fair test and to try every angle for it.
On the bottle itself it says you can use it with thick hair, even if it says inside that it helps volumise fine and lacklustre hair, so I thought it’d be interesting to see if it worked for me.
Day 14 in the M&S calendar is another volumising hair product, the Percy and Reed Volumising No Oil Oil, which is a but odd to say but I have heard of it before so it’ll be fun to try out. As I said in the previous volumising product day I don’t really need it as my hair is very thick but I do find that a lot of volumising products help sot flyaway hairs and do seem to tame and flatten my hair which seems slightly odd but if it works then I don’t mind. The Yankee Candle tea light today is another Snowflake Cookie, which is probably my least favourite scent but I’ll probably still burn it.
