Having got the Gryffindor and Ravenclaw palettes (you can see the review for them here), I had to get the Slytherin and Hufflepuff eyeshadow palettes that Boots released and complete the Harry Potter set. I wasn’t sure what to expect with these two as the other two seem to work quite differently to each other. Hufflepuff definitely looked the more wearable for me everyday but as I’m a Slytherin I had to get that one too. All four palettes cost £12.50 each and are in the three for two Christmas gifts offer, along with the rest of the Harry Potter range.
Each palette has six eyeshadows, with the Slytherin one being the only one with a true matte shade, though there is one in Hufflepuff that actually looks more matte than shimmery. Each palette has four colours that are linked to the house colours and two that would be considered more everyday colours so you can do either an all out house colours look or a more neutral look with a pop of colour.

I bought three Sleek Makeup eyeshadow palettes recently and have been playing around with them for the last month, this Dream a Little Dream i-Divine palette is one of them. It’s the most recent of the Limited Edition palettes though I’m not sure how limited it will be, some of the ‘limited edition’ ones are there from over a year ago whereas others disappear quickly so if you’re interested in this palette and you can get it then I’d suggest you do it as soon as you can in case it disappears.
As with all Sleek i-Divine palettes it has twelve mineral based eyeshadows in it and cost £8.99 on the Sleek website. I can’t find an official description on what the exact combination for this one is but I’d say all of them are a shimmer of some kind. Six of them I’d call standard shimmers, four obvious duochromes (one of these with glitter in a fairly matte base), a silver foil finish and one that’s a shimmer base with fairly bit glitter particles in it. The colours are so pretty and all cool toned pastels, mainly in the blues, silvers and purples with a green and two cool toned pinks mixed in there.

After a recent declutter of my wardrobe I had a list of things I was looking for and I’ve got better at not buying things in sales just because they’re cheap but I did end up getting some things I didn’t have planned on a couple of recent trips to the McArthur Glen Outlet shopping centre in Bridgend. Everything I bought ended up being from the Next Outlet, they have had such good bargains recently, £2 for a good quality top or £10 for some jeans is such a good price if they’re what you want. For years I didn’t get that much from Next but it feels a bit like half of my go to wardrobe comes from there.
The Next Outlet stores often have extra reductions, which is what happened with most of the things I’ve bought, beyond the reductions in the normal sales. They also have older stock in lots of sizes sometimes as well as a range of clothes that are exclusive to the Outlet stores in the Special Purchase range. I know some people have said they aren’t the same quality as the standard line, they’re definitely cheaper than equivalents at full price, but I’ve bought quite a few things from them and they last just as well for me.

The second in the week of Sleek Makeup reviews is the Colour Corrector Palette. This is a small palette containing six different colours of cream formula colour correctors, each is 0.4g. These include green, lilac, blue, rose, yellow and orange which are each aimed at a different skin pigmentation problem. It costs £7.99 on the Boots and Superdrug websites, though I can’t find it on the Sleek Makeup website so I think it may not be available for much longer.
I haven’t really tried proper colour correctors, at least not the range of colours in this, so it was interesting to see how these worked for me. I would say that I have dark circles and red patches on my skin so the green and yellow are most definitely ones I’d be trying, but seeing all the videos and pictures of colour correction were interesting to try.

I seem to have been buying things recently, I do have a bit of a TK Maxx haul coming up that’s been building up for a few months so it’ll be a pretty big one and deserves its own post, I just haven’t been posting my recent purchases. I’ve found that posting then actually helps me to keep my spending down so I’m back to posting them more.
We recently found an out of city shopping centre that has some great shops in it, mainly TK Maxx and Marks & Spencer were the ones we’ve been to as I didn’t need clothes and most of the others would probably end up with me spending even more! Today’s post is the few things I got from M&S as well as their nail varnishes I bought in Sally’s on the same trip.

I recently made my first Beauty Bay order and, having read so many great reviews of their eyeshadow pans, I had to get at least one of the Makeup Geek eyeshadows. I fortunately most of the ones I wanted were out of stock but the Havok duochrome eyeshadow was available and, as it’s one of the main ones I wanted I got this. The colour is so pretty and one of the combinations I tend to think if as showing off duochrome the best as it has that almost petrol colours combination of brown and green.
I think it wasn’t long before I made the order that the Makeup Geek range seemed to get a price reduction in the Beauty Bay website so these individual duochrome eyeshadows cost £4.95 each. I think the rest of the range with the different finishes is also this price. They aren’t the cheapest eyeshadows out there and I tend to go for palettes over individual pans but it’s such a pretty colour I thought it’d be a great one as a first eyeshadow from the company.

I said I was going to declutter and I finally managed to collect everything together and go through it all, some had mysteriously moved to my computer drawer at some point, so I’m going to start on my decluttering posts. I will be posting links to any reviews I’ve already done so you can see better swatches and things and there are some things that I do still like but it was just their time to go.
Today the whole post is eyeliners, some of these posts will probably have a few categories in as I don’t have much of some things, and it has both pencils and liquid, though I only have the one liquid liner I’m getting rid of. I don’t wear eyeliner much apart from bonzes and golds but I seem to keep thinking that I will and so buy them anyway. I am quite happy to say that the majority of these eyeliners were in free gifts like those spend X and get this bag of makeup free type offers so I don’t feel too bad getting rid of them.

Sorry this is a bit later than I meant it to be guys. I had problems with the website not loading the pictures in the right places but it seems to be working now, I’m crossing my fingers it is anyway!
In a recent online shopping trip on the TK Maxx website I found a set of Models Own eyeliners for £7.99. They’re still available on the Models Own website at £20 so there’s a saving of £12.
I have had a brown eyeliner on my to buy list when I went to use my old one and found it was less a pencil more of a stub that’s hard to use and I do like a brown eyeliner pencil. I’m also wanting to try some Colouring eyeliners, I’ve always loved the look but not wanted to spend money on the eyeliners in case I don’t like them. As this set has eight pencil eyeliners in it, including a brown, gold and white which I will use, it was like getting those free compared to the individual price of most eyeliners I like.

I didn’t buy much from the Boxing Day sales but I did make an order from Rainbow Connection, a site that sells indie nail polishes and nail art supplies in the UK. Not all of it is here, a few of the stamper plates haven’t got here yet, but as most of it arrived I thought I’d do a post on it. I will be reviewing pretty much all of this at some point anyway so I’ll post the rest of the stamping plates then.
For the last few years I’ve been planning on trying nail stamping, it always looks so good when other people do it and I love how intricate the designs can be even if my hands are shaky. Most of my order was for this; a nail stamper set that was on offer, some plates, a couple of nail varnishes sold for stamping and then a few extras that caught my eye. I am yet to find a good gel nail varnish company that works for me apart from Red Carpet Manicure and I love holographic nails so I bought one of the Color Club gel nail varnishes as well as a couple of non gels that were in the destashing or old stock section from Organic Farm. I hadn’t heard of them before but apparently they’re from Korea and hard to get in the UK, so even if I love them I’m not sure how easily I could get more from them but these colours are so pretty.

Tonight’s is a bit later as we spent the weekend in Wales for a family meet up which was great so these posts have been scheduled and we got back this afternoon but I realised I forgot to schedule one for today! I love all these things in the lead up to Christmas and I’m definitely feeling Christmassy now but they are very draining. I’ll have to do a bit of an update post as I have had plans for Christmas posts but various family things have come up. I think my Christmas themed posts may end up going on after Christmas but I guess some are just winter themed so maybe they’ll work anyway.
I am definitely looking forward to trying these out today, though the Yankee Candle tea light is a duplicate it’s a refreshing scent and I do really like it. The Marks and Spencer advent calendar has an Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm which is something I haven’t really tried before so this will be interesting. The Ciate Mini Mani Month has La Dolce Vita which is a deep green nail varnish with shimmer in it and the Yankee Candle tea light is another Bundle Up tea light.
