Earlier this year I was on the lookout for a new concealer, I ended up with two from the Makeup Revolution group and have been trying this one alternately with with the Obsession concealer I reviewed in October. I wanted to give this Makeup Revolution London Conceal and Define concealer more of a go as I’ve heard it being compared to Shape Tape and some great things about it. It’s also vegan and cruelty free.
It has a range of 18 shades and I chose C1, which I think is the lightest in the cool range, though there’s a 0.5 for warmer skin tones and a pure white. I’m normally the lightest shade in any makeup range but this one is definitely a bit lighter than I’d normally go for in a concealer and I’ve been using it a bit as a combination highlight and concealer for the area under my eye. It costs £4 for the 4g tube, though it’s recently been on Beauty Bay for £2.79 and they have some shades left, just not this one.

My under eye concealer has been getting low and I wanted to try something new. After seeing good reviews of some of the Makeup Revolution concealers I got one of them and this Obsession Concealing Wand in Light was on their website too. There’s a fair amount of product in this with 4.5ml and it costs £6 but I can see it lasting a long time as you don’t need much for this to give decent coverage.
It’s a wand with a sponge tip and a twist up end that pushes the product through so no need for any extra brushes. It’s available in various colour correcting and concealer colours and this light concealer is for light neutral skin tones. It’s also both cruelty free and suitable for vegans.

I am so far behind with these brushes, or the style at least, I’m not sure what to call them, I’ve heard them called hairbrush style or toothbrush style so I’ll just go with both of them here. TK Maxx recently had a bit of a push with beauty products designed or made in Australia and this brand, Beauty Innovation, seems to have been one of them. I haven’t heard of them before and there isn’t much about them online, maybe some of you guys have heard of them.
This 3 Brush Set, a large linear brush, small oval brush and medium oval brush cost £19.99 about a month ago when I bought it and I can’t see it online but I know the one local to me still has some of their brushes in it so it’s worth checking out the beauty section if you’re interested in one. As I’ve had them for a month I’ve had a chance to give them a proper try and tried them in the ways they suggest as well as others and have found they work best with certain products, not necessarily the ones they recommend, but I’ll go into that more in a bit.

Having never actually tried NYX and it being on my to try list this year I ended up adding a few things to my basket when using my Boots points recently. This NYX Dark Circle Concealer costs £6 and comes in a small pot with 2.9g of product. I’m not a huge fan of face products that come in pots but it seems a lot of concealers do and I tend to use clean brushes to try and keep them cleaner.
This concealer is supposed to help reduce your dark circles with the orange tones, neutralising blues in under eye dark circles. It’s a cream product with a fairly thick consistency that claims to have good coverage and not dry out the sensitive skin under your eyes while also moisturising with coconut oil. With it being about half the price of my go to No7 under eye concealer I thought it was worth trying out.

I have to admit I wasn’t entirely sure what to call this decluttering post as it sort of covers a lot of different eye products, basically anything that isn’t eyeshadow or eyeliner. I included my two concealer palettes in here because I only really used them as under eye concealers, though they could probably have gone in a face products post as well. As with my previous decluttering posts I’ll link to any posts I’ve done to review these products and link to any of the ones I really liked.
When I was going through my makeup products I realised I have so many unopened, unused mascaras in there so I could probably have actually got rid of a few more, I just do like to at least try one kind of mascara before I get rid of it. It feels like every one of those spend X amount or buy this many products sets seems to come with a mascara so I hardly ever actually buy any myself.

I did a post about the things I took in my makeup bag for travel over a year ago but I thought I’d do another after going away last week. Some of the things I didn’t use but it’s going to be the same things I’m taking away for family meetups and things in the lead up to Christmas so it seemed like a good time to post one anyway. I’m not normally too bad at packing light when it comes to makeup but I was surprised when I unpacked it all how much I took this time. I tend to go for taking only a few kinds of products but a range of colours in them.
I think that most of these things I’ve posted a review for so I’ll link it if I have so there’s a more in depth post on them and proper swatches if you’re interested in them. Almost everything is still available in stores, I think only the eyeliners might be hard to find but I haven’t found any that I like as much, I am on the lookout for a nice soft bronzey or gold colour if anyone has any suggestions though.

I went shopping today so I thought I’d do a post on the things I bought, though a few of the things from Boots are repurchasing old favourites that I have reviewed in the past I did find a few new things that I am really excited to try. I also went to Matalan and managed to keep it down to three things from there, I could have bought so much more and I found a jacket that I will definitely be buying online as they didn’t have my size in store. I did also go to Pets at Home so I’ve included the few gerbil things I got there too, I wouldn’t normally but I figured it’s not an extra post and it’s something different.

I realise I don’t really do empties posts, that’s mainly because most months I either forget to take photos of my empties (I may have done that with a couple of things this month too) or I just don’t finish off enough product sin a month to be worth doing the post. Most of the products I buy tend to last a long time and they get finished in dribs and drabs but this month it ended up that I finished quite a few things in one go so thought I’d do one. I do like reading these from other people, seeing what people actually would repurchase sometimes helps me decide if it’s a product that I’ on the fence about.
I was planning on combining my monthly favourites with the empties post but it got so long I’m doing it in two, I think the monthly favourites will be on Monday. There are some things in this post that I forgot to photograph, I’m not used to doing these posts. Maybe in the future I’ll keep all my empties and just do them when I get enough to be worth posting rather than setting it as a monthly thing. Anyway, here’s what I finished off this month and whether I’d repurchase them in the future and why. There are a couple of sample products in here but most of them are full sized.

I think this may be the most things I’ve included in a monthly favourites but they’re things I’ve been loving and have almost finished a couple of them. Unfortunately my laptop screen is not working very well, it just jumps around a lot whenever I use my computer for more than ten minutes so I’ll be trying to sort that out but at the moment I’m writing this on my phone with photos taken on the iPad so sorry if the picture quality isn’t great.

I recently bought the Makeup Revolution Cover and Conceal palette as a replacement to the old Elf concealer palette that I used to love but is no longer sold in the EU. I’ve heard good things about the company in general and liked the range of colours so went for the light and crossed my fingers it would be the right colour for me. I should probably have learned by now that online purchases of concealer and foundation type things is not the best idea but luckily this was a pretty good match, I think that’s probably due to the range in the palette and the fact they can be mixed.
This can be found on their own website but I bought it on the Superdrug site, I think it’s also available in some stores but I haven’t seen it near me. It costs £6 and the Superdrug site is here though it doesn’t say it’s the light one, it’s the lightest of the three using the pictures. It is also available in medium and dark, though I haven’t seen either of them in person the dark does not appear to be all that dark to me going by swatches and the official pictures.
