I’ve always meant to do empties posts, I just tend to find
that I go for ages without having any and then within a week everything I use
regularly is finished. I love reading or watching them when other people do
them as it shows what you actually use and like rather than a review of
something you’ve been using for a few weeks or days.
As I’ve been organising my wardrobe, I’m only part way at
the moment, I’ve ended up getting all the random stuff that got thrown into
this basket I got for empties so now it can finally be used as I wanted it to
be. I didn’t plan on it being overflowing before I did my first post though! I’ll
try to keep them shorter, maybe after every ten empties, I didn’t realise how
much was in there until I emptied it earlier! As there are so many I’ll try to
keep them short and I’ll link to any I’ve done reviews on so you can see more about

I’m always a fan of berry scents, I’m not sure why but there’s something comforting about them to me, so when I saw the Festive Sack of Berry Bon Bon Delights on the Body Shop website as early release online I had to try it. I tend to either miss out on limited edition Christmas scents from them because I don’t try them in time to know I like them or I order full sized and then they don’t agree with me for whatever reason. This sack of minis seems a bit expensive at £18 but if you bought these mini sizes separately they’d come to , so it’s actually a bit of a discount if you want to just see if you like them. Also it’s a cute sack and would be a great present for someone.
This set comes with four small sized products, they’re each the smallest size you can buy individually. It has a 50ml Body Butter, 50ml Sugar Body Scrub, 60ml Shower Gel and 30ml Hand Cream. As with everything from the Body Shop it’s all cruelty free. I think that’s a pretty nice range of products and the scent does actually change a bit depending on the base for the product.
The latest Fortune Cookie Soap Soap Box arrived on the weekend so, after trying everything out, today’s post is a mini review, first impressions type post for each of the upcoming Autumn scents. Fortune Cookie Soap are an American company that make bath and body products and their signature products it, unsurprisingly, a fortune cookie shaped soap. They release seasonal collections four times a year and these Soap Boxes are full of sample sizes of the upcoming scents in a range of products alongside two full sized products. Calling them sample sizes seems a bit mean considering the amount you get, they’re great travel sized minis and even the body butters can do more than one use if you’re careful with them.
As well as the seasonal collections often having the theme of the season, they also have a second theme. This time the theme is the movie Mean Girls which, I’ll be honest, I haven’t seen in a while so some of the references may go over my head. I was surprised at how many I actually got but fans of the movie will probably recognise everything. I do love how they use in jokes as well as the more well known references when it comes to these themes.
As this is the Autumn (Fall if you’re American) collection it isn’t actually available yet, the release date is August 18th at 6PM CST, I think that’s around midnight here in the UK. It’s worth either staying up late if you want something or waiting a bit as they often restock things a couple of weeks later and things sell out so fast.
Hi guys, this is a bit late since I got this box last Monday but I’m still posting before the Christmas range is available so it’s still on time, kind of, and I’ve had a chance to play with everything as well! This is another Enchanted sample box, this time for the Christmas range which is always amazing and I always end up buying way too much from there. These sample boxes contain a range of products in different scents, like the Fortune Cookie Soap Soap Boxes, and are great for testing out scents before the release. There’s no specific theme this time, it’s a mix of traditional Christmas scents with some others but I’ll go through them in the review.
Unfortunately Enchanted will be closing after Christmas though you can still order anything on there now until then and these Christmas products are going to be released this weekend. I did think it was this Saturday but on the piece of paper it says the 8th which is Sunday so I’m not sure now.
I made an order on Monday from the Lush website after seeing the Halloween and Christmas products were online. Other than the recent Oxford Street products I tried I haven’t actually bought from Lush since last December, I always get drawn in by the Halloween and Christmas products and it’s the same this year. A few of the things I got are in the permanent line so I’ll mark which are from which collection as they disappear from shops at different times. This is sort of a first impressions post as I’m planning on doing proper reviews or comparisons for the new versions of older products that I’ve bought.
The Halloween and Christmas collections were released on October 2nd and the Halloween ones will probably end up being out of stock before Halloween going by past experience. There are sometimes products that hang around for a while, I think the Calacas scented soap was around in February in some shops, but I have found that some go out of stock in the lead up to Halloween and Lush haven’t restocked them if it’s close to the date. The Christmas ones are around until Christmas though I think these also may go out of stock if it’s within a few days of Christmas as they try not to produce too much so they don’t have to have much in sales afterwards. If they say out of stock now though both of these collections are likely to be back in stock, the Nightwing jelly went out of stock which made me delay my order until it was back as it was one of the things I wanted the most.
I’ve done a few posts about Enchanted preview boxes this year and Saturday the latest box for the collection being released on August 1st arrived so I had to do a post on it. Enchanted are a bath and body product company and the preview box is like the Fortune Cookie Soap box in that it’s released before a collection and one for each season so four in a year. These boxes contain sample sizes of the products, there’s a good range of both scents and product types in these normally and includes things like lotions, scrubs and wax melts as well as some perfume oil normally. Buying them all at the beginning of the year there was a discount but now you can only buy the last one for £22. It’s available until October 1st and is the Christmas collection.
This season’s collection is all Alice in Wonderland themed which I love and couldn’t wait to see the scents and names that would be in it. It seems to be a popular theme with a lot of companies choosing it but I don’t mind as I love the books so any variation on Alice themed things is good for me.
You may have seen my previous posts on Fortune Cookie Soap, I do love their products and their quarterly subscription box lets you try smaller versions of their new line before it’s released. This can be found on their site, this is the page for the soap boxes. They have lots of limited edition mini collections as well as their seasonal lines so it’s worth checking back fairly regularly if you like the look of a couple in the permanent range but want to make it worth the postage, which can be quite high if you live in the UK as they’re in America.
The company makes bath and body products and their signature is the fortune cookie shaped soaps which I love as they have a formula that means they last quite a while, lather well especially with scrubby gloves, but they aren’t so huge as to last ages which I find a problem with some soaps. I like to have a range of scents and don’t stick to just one until it’s finished so I’ve had soaps go on for ages before. I’m getting better at not doing that but these smaller soaps do help.
I was planning on doing this post last Friday as it arrived last week but then other things came up and so I’m doing this today instead. This collection is from Enchanted and it’s based on Harry Potter, it’s called the Cavern of Wizarding Wonders and has products in scents that are inspired by objects and food in the Harry Potter universe. These collection preview boxes are sent out leading up to the release of the collection, like the Fortune Cookie Soapboxes and there are four in a year, they each contain products in sample sizes of the new scents, there is normally at least one of each of the product types in the normal range. You can order them one at a time or in a larger group, the larger amount means you pay less for each. At the moment you can buy the July/August preview box for £22 or both remaining boxes for this year (with the Winter box) for £42, saving £2 from here.
I am a bit late with this post as the collection was released on 2nd May and I’ve already made an order, I got the book gift box, but I wanted to post this anyway as it’s available for a while. As these are handmade the estimated date they will be dispatched for this collection is 2 – 3 weeks, it’s definitely worth it to me as the products work so well on my skin and this collection especially smells amazing. Plus it’s Harry Potter and that’s always good.
This Christmas’ theme was New York and all the scents are based on places and things found around the city. I did get the sample set for these so I knew what the scents would be like in advance and bought products in three of these scents though afterwards I realised I wanted to get some in the gingerbread scent which was amazing too. I loved all of the scents but these three were the ones that stood out to me.
