Review: No7 Lovely Lashes Mascara

lovelylashesheader

Late last week I made an order for a couple of No7 mascaras, one of them being the Lovely Lashes mascara in brown/black (£13). I haven’t tried this one yet and wanted to give it a go, I’ve liked a lot of the No7 mascaras I’ve tried and like the brown/black colour as it’s a bit softer than the black but dark enough to still stand out more than a lighter brown.

This mascara claims glossy, natural volume with argan oil in the formula that helps to nourish and condition the lashes too so I was interested to see how it would turn out and if it would help improve the condition of my lashes. I tend to go for a more natural looking mascara so mascaras that add definition or length over volume but I’ve also found that a lot of the mascaras promising volume need a couple of coats to have a real boost of volume. I was more interested in the glossy finish and nourishing properties this formula is meant to have.

Review: Dr Organic Moroccan Argan Oil Hair Treatment Serum

arganhairserumheader.jpg

I’ve had this hair serum for a while and it’s become one of my everyday hair products. I originally got it in the boxing day one penny sale on the Holland and Barrett website which is essentially buy one get one free but you buy one product in the offer and get another for 1p. This came as part of a set with a shampoo and conditioner and was the 1p item I chose, though I did get the set mainly for this one product. This hair serum is available as a product on its own and costs £14.99 for the 100ml bottle, the same size as this one, so I’d recommend getting it by itself unless you can get the set in a similar sale to the one I did.

Dr Organic is a cruelty free company that makes skin care and hair care products and is sold exclusively at Holland and Barrett, in the UK anyway. This Moroccan Argan Oil Hair Treatment Serum is supposed to reduce frizz, soften, restore and nourish hair and is used after washing your hair and towel drying it so it protects your hair as it dries. It can also be used on dry hair, just not as much, to protect your hair and reduce frizz, though I haven’t tried it yet.

H&M Haul

header

I recently had a sort out of my clothes and things and made a check list, I find it’s a great way to make sure you don’t get too distracted when shopping and it means you actually leave with what you went in for (rather than ten new nail varnishes and some tops when you go in for jeans, happens way too often for me). Last week I may have ended up spending more than I meant to when I realised that 90% of the things on my wish list were in TK Maxx and H&M which I was on for other things so this week will probably turn into a bit of a haul week. I was planning on doing them all together but then I realised exactly how much will be arriving from TK Maxx and that one alone may need to be a two parter. So, sorry if you’re not a fan of haul posts.

Today’s haul is from H&M and not all that big. My original thing to get from H&M was bras, for some reason no matter how many makes I try the ones from H&M are the only ones that fit me comfortably and unfortunately the H&Ms near me have a very small range available so it’s online I go. I did end up adding a few extras in here, as well as the T-shirts that I needed, because I have never seen any of the beauty products in the stores near me and wanted to give them a go. I did manage to limit myself to things I actually use or need to replace anyway so I don’t feel too bad.

Advent day 15

IMG_1466.JPG
Today’s door had three sample size products in it, two sachets of Royal Moroccan serum treatment and one of Royal Moroccan hair mask treatment. These are small sample sachets and I think would only contain the amount for one use though the mask may not have enough as my hair is very thick. The back of the calendar does say it should have one shampoo instead if one of the serums but I think I prefer it this way as I like the shampoo I use now as it’s a toning one and my hair is blonde and I like argan oil serums.

These both contain argan oil and the serum smells of coconut, I was expecting it to smell of roses or floral scents as this seems to be the most popular scent for argon oil products I’ve tried in the past. The scent is nice enough but smells like any other coconut product, this always reminds me of sun cream and summer. The mask smells more like I’d expect, a sweet floral scent that is pretty strong and there’s definitely something in there which reminds me of incense. I like this scent and hope a hint of it lasts after the product gets washed off.
