As we’re in the middle of a heat wave in the UK it seemed like the perfect time to do a review of a sun cream I’ve had since December. I got this mini sized tube of Ultrasun Face in SPF 30 in the Marks and Spencer Advent Calendar and have been keeping it in case we had some sun this summer. I’ve been using it the past week and it’s still going so, although it’s a mini size, it has a fair amount of product in it.
This is a 25ml mini tube, the size you find in quite a few of their sets, but it’s also available in full sized 50ml (£16 – £20) and 100ml (£25 – £30). I’ve found it on a few sites so the prices may vary slightly. This is also the 30 SPF version, it’s the one I got but the one I’d probably choose anyway, though it’s also available in both 15 SPF and 50 SPF, some also seem to have a 50+ but I’m not sure if that’s the same as the 50 SPF. There are also anti pigmentation varieties and tinted ones so they pretty much cater for everything I can think of in the range of face sun protection.
Ultrasun isn’t available in many physical stores in the UK, online it’s available in a lot of places, the two I’ve bought from in the past are Marks and Spencer (though they don’t stock the SPF 30 at the moment) and QVC. Continue reading
The Marks and Spencer advent calendar has a high end skin care product, the kind it’s fun to try but would be outside my budget for a daily use product in the Studio 10 Miracle Effect Priming Serum. The Yankee Candle is the very Christmassy scented Bundle Up and the Ciate Mini Mani Month had a mini bottle of Pliés Please Me, the Gelology version of a colour that’s a light blue or grey shimmer colour with a hint of a pink duochrome that gives it a light version of a petrol look nail varnish to me.
A couple of weeks ago I did a review of the Dr Organic Snail Gel and, as I got three of the products in the set in the Boxing Day sales I thought I’d review the other two as well. This week it’s the serum’s turn and you might be able to see from the bottle that I’ve used about three quarters of the bottle already so I’ve given it a proper try. I have been using it alongside the Snail Gel itself for most of the time I’ve been using it, but did use it by itself for a couple of weeks at the beginning.
This Organic Snail Gel Facial Serum is by Dr Organic and is available exclusively at Holland and Barrett in the UK, I’m not sure about stockists outside of the UK though. It costs £18.99 and comes in a 30ml bottle with a pump lid. At the moment the Dr Organic Snail Gel range is in a three for two offer. Their products are cruelty free, as is this product, and I’m not sure whether this product is suitable for vegetarians, the others in the range are but not suitable for vegans, it’s best if you check the ingredients on the website for this as I don’t recognise which are vegetarian friendly.
Today’s M&S is from another brand I have never heard of and it turns out is a bit more high end than any of the products I’ve received so far in the calendar. It’s the Laboratoires Filorga Time-Filler wrinkles correction cream which is a face cream and seems like it’ll be pretty good. The Yankee Candle is another Cinnamon Stick tea light. As I’ve had a few of the same ones close together I’m wondering if these are just randomly placed and you get a certain number of each scent rather than being placed in specific numbers. Does anyone else have this calendar and have you had the same ones as me on the specific days?
This is a mini recent purchases because I think these four things are all ones I’m really excited to try so wanted to do a sort of first impressions before I do a proper review after playing around a bit with them. I made a couple of orders, one from Boots and one from John Lewis for presents and things and got these too, one is kind of a treat for finishing my course as I have been wanting any of the Naked palettes for ages and it seemed like a good reason to get one.
