With the hotter weather we’ve been getting in summers I wanted to try to make sure I drink enough liquids, water by itself can get a bit boring and I’m trying to cut down on sugar when I’m home so was on the lookout for a low sugar way to get some variation in my drinks. I’ve seen these cold brew style teabags in magazines and really wanted to try them so when I saw the Twining’s Cold Infuse tea bags in Holland and Barrett for buy one get one half price I had to give them a go. They’re available in a lot of stores in the UK so you’ll probably find them in your local supermarket for around £3.80 per tub, though they are on sale at half price in Holland and Barrett at the moment.
I like fruit teas hot and often make them and let them go cold but there are some flavours in this range that you don’t see as a hot tea. The two I chose were Watermelon, Strawberry and Mint and the Rose Lemonade. They have a few others that I’d actually like to try but these seemed the most unusual to me and I really wanted to try the Rose Lemonade one to see what it was like.
This year I planned on getting a couple of advent calendars, one was going to be the Marks and Spencer’s Beauty Advent calendar, the other was probably going to be the cheapest of the three Body Shop ones. However, I managed to write down the wrong date for the M&S one so missed out on it and the Body Shop one was sold out by the time I had the room in my budget so I’ve been having a look around at some and actually will have four within my budget for two (I have one on the way which I will link to at the end as well). I did plan on getting the NYX one too, which may sneak into a basket if it goes on offer but I don’t really need the extra makeup even if the colours do look gorgeous!
I think this year will be the biggest variety in advent calendars I have ever had, it pretty much covers most of the things I like and they aren’t even really linked in any way. The first is from Funko Pop and is one I found by accident and had to get when I saw it was in stock, the second is a beauty advent calendar that was better than half price and has some amazing products in but it’s not one I’ve seen any posts on in advent calendar round ups, and the final one I have with me is full of tea! The fourth is Christmas decorations for the tree and I just love the style of them, plus I did originally decide to get it before I found any of the others and I just wanted an advent calendar.
For a while I’ve really wanted to try some Japanese snacks, I did get a couple of Popin Cookin sets and they were lots of fun and tasted surprisingly good considering the fact they were powders with water added. When I made an order recently from the Tofu Cute site I bought one of the snack lucky bags. They do two kinds of lucky bag, the snack one and one full of fluffy things from the Amuse brand that does the Alpacasso plushes, I did a review of a larger bag of them here. They come in four sizes; chibi (£12.99), sugoi (£19.99), senpai (£29.99) and sumo (£49.99).
The Tofu Cute Lucky Bags bags say that they always contain products worth more than you’ve paid and I can say that in my case that’s true, but not by as much as I was hoping. Adding them all up the total comes to £13.64 and the bag cost £12.99 so it’s 65p off, unless my maths is wrong. I think if you get the larger bags, I got the smallest, then you would get a greater value compared to what you spend.
