Review: Makeup Revolution Halloween Haunted House Eyeshadow Palette

Haunted House eyeshadow palette title image. Behind the text box is a photo of the palette open to show the eyeshadows in a range of browns, red and light neutrals

I love everything Halloween, especially when it comes to makeup, so when I saw this Haunted House Eyeshadow Palette on the Makeup Revolution site I had to have it. I also love the deep reds and browns that make up this palette, it seemed like the perfect one for me. It costs £10 and is cruelty free and vegan friendly so a great budget palette that isn’t tested on animals.

As with the Rainbow Palette this has eighteen eyeshadows with a mix of finishes, though mainly mattes. There are eight true mattes, one with a matte base and shimmer particles, two duochromes, two I would say are foil finishes and five shimmers with varying amounts of shimmer in them. Overall there’s a great range of colours and finishes for any look with deep reds or warm browns.

Review: Makeup Revolution SFX Liquid Latex

Liquid Latex title image. Behind the text box is a phot of the tube open and liquid latex dripping on the table

I have always loved the idea of special effects makeup, especially when it comes to Halloween, but I’ve always found it a bit intimidating to start. I’ve seen the Liquid Latex that Makeup Revolution have done in the past and been tempted so I thought this year I’d actually get it. I have never used anything for special effects makeup before so I can’t comment on what this is like compared to other liquid latex products but I wanted to give it a try anyway.

I think that if there was no other use for liquid latex than special effects makeup I probably wouldn’t have been so tempted. However, as I’ve seen it used so much when it comes to protecting your fingers in nail art I thought this was one Halloween makeup product that I might get more use out of.

Review: Makeup Revolution Halloween Rainbow Eyeshadow Palette

Makeup Revolution Rainbow Palette title image. Behind the text box is a photo of the palette open, showing some of the eyeshadow colours inside

When I think of Halloween themed products I tend to think of creepy haunted houses or ones like the eyeball highlighters I did a review of the other day. However, Makeup Revolution also do a limited edition Halloween range that’s more unicorns and rainbows than ghosts and graveyards.

I don’t use many colourful eyeshadows but the slightly grungy look to a few of the colours in the Rainbow Shadow Palette. It’s £10 and has eighteen eyeshadows in it with a mix of duochrome, shimmers, mattes and a couple of metallics that have a foil finish. There’s a few more neutral shimmers in there but I’d say these are definitely mainly bright colours, perfect for a Halloween makeup look. As with all Makeup Revolution products this is cruelty free so hasn’t been tested on animals, this palette is also vegan.

Review: I Heart Revolution Eyeball Highlighters

The title image for the I Heart Revolution Eyeball Highlighters. Behind the text box is a photo of the two highlighters open so you can see the product inside

I can’t believe it’s been so long since my last post, sorry for going quiet for a while guys, but I have a few Halloween makeup posts coming up so I hope you’ll come back to check them out. Today’s post is about a couple of the highlighters from the Revolution I Heart range. They did some Halloween highlighters with squishy eyeballs on top, which may sound odd but they’re strangely satisfying to squish!

I didn’t mean to get both of these, when they were first listed they had the wrong image with the name so I thought I’d ordered the golden Terrif-Eye as it was listed as Eye See You, which is actually pink. So now I have both, and I am kind of happy I decided to keep I See You, though I originally thought I’d throw it away. The eyeball highlighters are £5 each, though Eye See You is on sale at the moment for £3.30. Revolution Makeup is a cruelty free brand so these highlighters aren’t tested on animals.
