Another year another tech problem!

I seem to be having really bad luck with computers recently!

I’ve been feeling so good about being all ready to get my blog posts done in advance tomorrow and today was going to be the last day I was writing them on the day they go up and then I get an error message when I’m saving my images on photoshop! According to Adobe my scratch disks are corrupted, or possibly full, it can’t make up its mind at the moment. I’ve been having the scratch disc full message pop up for a week or so because it kept reverting back to the default even when I changed the drive it’s supposed to save and install to and it appears that it’s so full now that even opening photoshop is too much so I can’t even change the scratch drive destination.

Anyway, I’ve been searching the internet for a solution and it seems I may need to get a new hard drive, which is annoying as it seems the one that’s broken is the one that’s only been put in there last November. I feel a bit like hitting my head on the wall at the moment!

I will spend tomorrow trying to figure it out and I’m hoping it’s not a new hard drive as my computer was only just under guarantee last time it got fixed, now it’s definitely out of it. Any tech people out there have any ideas? I’m still a bit fuzzy with antibiotics and throat medicine so I could be missing something totally obvious! I think the next thing I’ll try is uninstall and reinstalling it but I’m not hopeful that won’t give me the same message if it’s corrupted rather than full.

Basically, I will be putting posts up but all the photos I had taken to get ahead of myself may not be useable. I’m going to have to try and hijack my parents desktop and see if I can use that maybe. Either that or it’s back to the good old iPad and I’m taking photos for ten posts all over again and have to try and make things look unused!

This is possibly a pointless post that will be going down tomorrow but I thought there might be a tiny chance someone else has had a similar problem. I’ll shut up now!

After Christmas Shopping and Sales Haul

After Christmas Sales SHopping Haul title image. Behind the text is a photo of different products bought after the sales

Last week was a bit of an odd week, I started out with one of the bugs going around and ended up with sinusitis so sorry for a lack of posts last week. I’m hoping the antibiotics will kick in and everything will go back to normal this week as I actually have the next four weeks worth of posts planned and some of them photographed. Starting to feel organised finally! And with the final deliveries from my post Christmas orders arriving last week I thought it was time to do a post on everything I got.

I think it’s about a month from my first order but some of them took a while to get here and I thought I’d put everything in one big post. It’s a big mix of everything from home and beauty to nerdy figures and some are full price but I wanted to get them with Christmas money from relatives. If anything is still available I’ll put a link to it and I’m pretty sure that most of these will be getting their own review posts so if there’s anything in here you want to see first then please comment and I’ll move them up the list.

Review: Nails Inc Green Fingers Vegan Nail Varnish

Nails Inc. Green Fingers Nail Varnishes title image. Behind the text is a picture of two nail varnish bottles, one dark red and the other pale pink

In the Holland and Barrett advent calendar there were two of the Nails Inc Green Fingers Bio-Sourced nail varnishes, one in a deep red, called Pressed Juniper, and another in pale pink, called Thistle Fade. I think this is a new range, or maybe I’ve just missed out on it in the past, and is suitable for vegans and vegetarians and uses plant based proteins to improve the quality of your nails. At least that’s the plan anyway.

These are the same size as the old standard Nails Inc nail varnishes, with each bottle holding 10ml, though the new square Nails Inc bottles hold 14ml. They cost £11 each so cheaper than the £15 of their standard range with 4ml less in each bottle. They’re also available in a range of colours, though it’s not great and is mainly pastels there are a few different nude and pale pink colours.

Review: Petty Bones Club Pokémon Pins

Petty Bones Club Pokémon Enamel Pins title. Behind the text box it a phot of the four pins: Haunter, Officer Growlithe, Nurse Chansey and an Alolan Raichu

When Petty Bones Club did a Kickstarter for more Pokemon themed enamel pins I had to check it out. There were a lot of cute designs to choose from and I picked the Haunter, Alolan Raichu, Nurse Chansey and Officer Growlithe, though there are a couple that have gone up on the website that I want to get too.  I somehow missed that these were going up on their site so Chansey is sold out now, but the other three are still there at £8 with some of the others that were available from the Kickstarter campaign.

Review: Salt of the Earth Pure Aura Deodorant

I have been a fan of natural deodorants for the past couple of years, they just seem to get on better with my skin and they seem to work for me. However, I have recently found that I’ve had to reapply the ones I was using, so when I got the spray version of the Pure Aura deodorant from Salt of the Earth I was definitely interested in trying it out. As you may be able to tell by the fact I went and bought the roll on version I was definitely a fan.

The roll on of the Pure Aura Melon and Cucumber scented deodorant holds 75ml and costs £5.49. The full sized spray is £5.99 for 100ml so is a bit more cost effective but I’d say that price difference is for the container rather than the deodorant itself so it’s purely a case of which kind you prefer. I got a half sized spray from the Holland and Barrett advent calendar last year.

2019 Goals

The blog post header with 2019 Goals. Behind it is an image of a diaryI feel like this post is a couple of weeks late now but I’ve kind of been putting it off as I know my blogging goals at the beginning of last year are so far off what I actually did that it’s not the most positive thing to look back on for last year. I’ve been trying to work on things and plan ahead and needed a break from blogging, partly planned at the beginning but then I got ill so less planned but definitely needed.

I tend to make goals posts for my blog and update and change them as I go throughout the year as I see goals as a flexible thing, something that you can change as the circumstances change, and check things off as you go along and add new ones. I tended to find that whenever I set new years resolutions they seem to fail pretty early but goals with definite updates throughout the year work better for me.
